Disney has rolled out a notable visual update to the My Disney Experience app search experience. Version 8.19.0, released on March 12, replaces the previous compact list format with a card-based design that gives each search result significantly more breathing room — and makes scanning results a lot easier while you’re standing in the middle of a busy park.

Quick Summary

  • My Disney Experience updated to version 8.19.0 on March 12, 2026.
  • The search results layout has been redesigned from compact circular thumbnails to a card-based format.
  • Each result card now features a larger rectangular preview image on the right side.
  • Functional info — standby wait times, pricing tiers, and closure status — remains fully visible.
  • The update is available now on iOS through the App Store.

From Tiny Circles to Full Cards

The most visible change in this update is the elimination of the old circular thumbnail format. Previously, when you searched for an attraction, restaurant, or experience in My Disney Experience, results appeared as a compact list: small round images on the left, text details stacked next to them. It worked, but it felt cramped — especially on smaller phone screens while you’re trying to quickly find what you need mid-park.

The new design switches to individual result cards, each featuring a larger rectangular preview image on the right side of the card. The cards give each listing its own visual identity and make it much faster to visually scan through results and identify what you’re looking for at a glance. If you’ve ever squinted at a tiny thumbnail trying to figure out if you’re looking at Haunted Mansion or the wrong attraction, this update solves that problem.

All the Important Info Is Still There

The visual overhaul doesn’t sacrifice function for form. Disney kept all the key operational details intact within the new card layout. Standby wait times, pricing tiers, and closure status are all still visible on each result card, so you’re not losing any of the information you rely on to make real-time decisions during your park day.

That’s the right call. The search function in My Disney Experience is one of those features guests use when they need information quickly — either to check a wait time before deciding to walk over, or to verify whether something is open at all. Keeping that data front and center while improving the visual presentation is exactly the kind of thoughtful update the app needs more of.

Available Now on iOS

Version 8.19.0 is available now on iOS through the App Store. If you haven’t updated yet, it’s worth grabbing before your next park day. The new search layout is a meaningful quality-of-life improvement — especially if you’re the designated “phone person” in your group who’s constantly looking things up on the fly.

Disney has been making incremental improvements to My Disney Experience over the past year, and while not every update is headliner-worthy, this one will be genuinely noticeable to anyone who uses search regularly. Go update the app.
