Disney just gave us the first look inside Hurly-Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk, and the photos answer the question fans have been asking since Jellyrolls closed: is this actually a live entertainment lounge, or just another bar with a stage in the corner?
It’s the real thing. The new photos show a performance stage framed with red theatre curtains, a full band setup already in place, and a deep blue room built around it.
Hurly-Burly opens October 1 on the BoardWalk promenade. Disney shared these interior images on social media as the venue came together, and they show a finished space with a clear point of view: a vintage seaside theatre, turned into a lounge.
Here’s everything the photos reveal, plus the hours, the menu prices and how I’d plan a night there.
Quick Summary
- Opens: October 1 at Disney’s BoardWalk
- Hours: Daily, 4pm to 1am
- All ages: 4pm to 9pm, with trivia and games led by a live host
- 21-and-over: Live music programming starts at 9pm
- Theme: Vintage seaside theatre with a deep blue color palette
- Stage: Red theatre curtains, exposed brick, full band setup
- Food: Small plates, $11 to $21
- Drinks: Cocktails $17 to $21, with select cocktails at a walk-up window on the promenade
First Look Inside Hurly-Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk
The interior leans hard into the vintage seaside theatre concept. This isn’t a light theming touch. It’s the whole room.
Here’s what the photos show:
- A dedicated performance stage framed with red theatre curtains, with exposed brick behind it
- A full band setup already in place — drums, upright bass, electric guitars and microphones
- A deep blue color palette throughout, with teal-painted walls
- Dark wood exposed ceiling trusses overhead
- A star-projected ceiling above the stage area, giving the room an after-dark feel even before the lights go down
- A pressed tin ceiling panel section on one side of the room
- Star-shaped wall sconces and gold-accented arched niches in the walls
- A chandelier in what looks like a more intimate alcove section
- A decorative vintage gramophone on a side table near the stage
- The Hurly-Burly logo painted in white on one of the blue walls in an ornate vintage style
That star-projected ceiling is the detail I keep coming back to. It solves a real problem for a venue that opens at 4pm in Florida sunshine. You walk in mid-afternoon, and it already feels like night.
The Seating Setup Tells You How to Use the Room
Look at the seating mix and you can read how Disney wants you to use Hurly-Burly:
- Powder blue tub chairs around white marble-top tables
- Darker upholstered booth seating along the walls
- Mixed occasional chairs filling in the rest
That’s three different experiences in one room. The tub chairs and tables are built for groups facing the stage. The booths along the walls are for longer sit-downs and conversation. The occasional chairs let the room flex when it fills up. It also directly speaks to the 1920s time period and the style of lounges back in the day.
My read: if you want the show, get there early and take a table near the stage. If you want to talk, aim for a booth. The alcove with the chandelier looks like the quietest corner in the room.
Hurly-Burly Hours and Age Rules
The schedule is straightforward. Hurly-Burly is open daily from 4pm to 1am.
The room changes character partway through the night:
- 4pm to 9pm: Open to all ages, with trivia and games led by a live host
- From 9pm: The venue becomes 21-and-over, with live music
That split matters for planning. If you’re traveling with kids and want to see the space, the afternoon window is your only shot. If you want the band and the full theatre-lounge feel, you’re coming after 9pm without the kids.
The Menu and Prices
The food menu is built around shareable small plates, not full entrees. Here’s what Disney has confirmed:
- Meatballs in Tomato Gravy — $15
- Roast Beef Sliders — $17
- Antipasto — $21
- Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts with miso-caramel sauce — $11
Cocktails run $17 to $21, and the list includes the Mertini, the Road to Fame whiskey sour and La Taquilla Picante.
Several drinks are also available at a walk-up window on the promenade. That’s the underrated part. You don’t have to commit to a table to get a cocktail on your way past.
How to Plan Your First Visit
Here’s how I’d approach opening month.
- Go before 9pm if you have kids. The all-ages window closes at 9pm sharp.
- Go after 9pm for the music. The stage setup says this room is built for live sets, not background playlists.
- Arrive early for stage seating. Opening weeks at a new BoardWalk venue draw a crowd, and the tables near the stage will go first.
- Use the walk-up window on busy nights. If the room is packed, grab a cocktail and walk the promenade instead of waiting.
- Pair it with a late Epcot night. The BoardWalk sits a short walk from Epcot’s International Gateway, so a 1am close gives you somewhere to land after fireworks.
- Eat before you go. Small plates are shareable, not a dinner replacement, and four plates add up fast at these prices.
What This Means for Disney’s BoardWalk
Hurly-Burly fills the late-night gap on the promenade. A 1am close and live music give the BoardWalk a reason to stay busy after park closing, which is exactly what the area lost when Jellyrolls shut down. It should also take some of the pressure off Abracadabar being the only lounge on Disney’s BoardWalk.
The interior photos also show Disney spending real effort on theming here. Star-projected ceilings, pressed tin panels, gold arches and custom wall lettering aren’t cheap touches. This is a themed venue, not a repainted bar.
If that holds up in person, Hurly-Burly becomes one of the easier recommendations on property for a night without a park ticket.
The Bottom Line
The first look inside Hurly-Burly at Disney’s BoardWalk shows a finished vintage seaside theatre lounge with a real stage, a deep blue palette, star-projected ceilings and three distinct seating zones. It opens October 1, runs 4pm to 1am daily, and turns 21-and-over at 9pm for live music.
Small plates run $11 to $21, cocktails run $17 to $21, and a walk-up window on the promenade means you can grab a drink without taking a table.
If you’re at Disney World in October, put Hurly-Burly on your list for a late night. Show up before 9pm with kids, after 9pm for the band, and get there early if you want a seat facing that stage.
