Disneyland Packing List

Hey Disney Vacationers! The first thing everyone looks for when getting ready for a Disneyland vacation is a Disneyland packing list. After all, it is a vacation like no other! Below is our go-to Disneyland packing list. Feel free to view the list online or download the file for easy printing. You can also build your own custom Disney Cruise packing list with my packing list builder below.

Start With the Right Disneyland Packing Mindset

Disneyland is not Disney World — and that’s a good thing.

The parks are closer together, hotels are walkable, and most trips are shorter. That means you can pack lighter if you focus on comfort and flexibility, not “what if” scenarios. You don’t need your entire closet. You need smart layers, reliable shoes, and a few park-day essentials that make long days easier.

Clothing: Comfort First (with California Flexibility)

Southern California weather is generally mild, but it changes fast — cool mornings, warm afternoons, chilly nights.

What to Pack

  • Lightweight, breathable tops
  • Comfortable shorts or pants
  • One light hoodie or jacket (non-negotiable)
  • Casual outfits for evenings
  • Sleepwear
  • Undergarments and socks (extra pair helps)

Shoes Matter More Than You Think

  • Comfortable walking shoes (broken in)
  • Optional second pair to rotate
  • Lightweight sandals for hotel downtime

Disneyland days can still hit 15,000–20,000 steps, especially if you’re park hopping.

Park Bag Must-Haves (Disneyland Edition)

You’ll be in and out of security easily, so keep your bag light and efficient.

Here’s what I always bring:

  • Portable phone charger
  • Sunscreen and SPF lip balm
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Sunglasses and hat
  • Travel-size hand sanitizer
  • Packable poncho or compact jacket
  • Blister bandages or moleskin
  • Snacks (especially helpful for kids)

Pro Tip

A small backpack or sling bag is ideal. Lockers are easy to access if you want to stash layers.

Tech & Travel Gear That Makes Disneyland Easier

A few smart items can save time and frustration.

  • Phone with Disneyland app downloaded
  • Power bank and charging cable
  • Packing cubes
  • Ziploc bags (snacks, wet rides, sunscreen leaks)
  • Mini first-aid kit (Band-Aids, ibuprofen, allergy meds)

What Disneyland Already Provides (So You Don’t Overpack)

Most Disneyland-area hotels are not Disney-owned, but basics are still covered.

You usually don’t need to pack:

  • Hair dryer
  • Shampoo and soap
  • Towels
  • Basic toiletries

Check your hotel, but this helps avoid duplicates.

Packing for Kids at Disneyland

Disneyland is easier with kids than Disney World — but a few items still help.

  • Stroller (even if they walk at home)
  • Lightweight stroller fan (summer)
  • Autograph book and chunky pen
  • Swimwear (hotel pools)
  • Comfort item for bedtime
  • Small toys or activities for downtime

Shorter distances don’t mean shorter days.

Seasonal Packing Tips for Disneyland

Spring & Summer

  • Sunscreen (reapply often)
  • Cooling towel
  • Hat and sunglasses

Fall & Winter

  • Warm hoodie or jacket
  • Layers for evenings
  • Light gloves for night shows (yes, really)

Holiday Season

  • Festive shirts or pajamas
  • Mickey ears for photos
  • Reusable shopping bags for merch

Adults-Only Disneyland Packing Tips

If this is a grown-ups trip, pack for flexibility and dining.

  • Dressy casual outfit (Carthay Circle, Napa Rose, Lamplight Lounge)
  • Refillable insulated tumbler
  • Travel perfume or cologne
  • Mini game or cards for downtime
  • Comfortable evening shoes

Disneyland nights can be just as long as the days.

The Disneyland Packing Strategy That Works

Here’s how I organize everything:

  • Main suitcase: clothes, shoes, tech
  • Carry-on/personal item: essentials, meds, chargers
  • Park bag: daily must-haves

Roll clothes, use packing cubes, and leave space for souvenirs — because you will buy something.

Final Disneyland Packing Tip

Disneyland trips are about pace and proximity. You don’t need to overprepare — you need to pack for comfort, weather changes, and long-but-manageable days.

Pack smart, stay flexible, and let the parks do the rest.

How to Use the DisMornings Packing List Builder

Here’s how to turn this tool into your own personal packing assistant in just a few clicks.

1. Choose Where You’re Going

At the top of the tool, you’ll see a dropdown that says “Where are you going?”

Pick your trip:

  • Disney World
  • Disney Cruise
  • Universal Orlando
  • Disneyland

Once you choose your destination, the tool will automatically load packing ideas that make sense for that kind of trip.

2. Check the Items You Want to Pack

After you pick your destination, you’ll see your list broken into easy categories like clothing, park essentials, tech, extras, and more.

  • Read through each category.
  • Check the boxes next to anything you want on your custom packing list.
  • Skip anything that doesn’t apply to your family or your style of travel.

You’re not locked into our suggestions – this is just a smart starting point.

3. Add Your Own Notes (Optional)

Under the packing categories, you’ll see an “Add Your Notes (optional)” box.

Use this space for anything you don’t want to forget, like:

  • Flight times
  • Grocery delivery notes
  • “Don’t forget kiddo’s comfort item”
  • Room requests or special reminders

Whatever you type here will be included right under your packing table in the email we send you.

4. Tell Us Where to Send Your List

In the “Email me my Packing List” section at the bottom:

  1. Enter your First Name
  2. Enter your Last Name
  3. Enter your Email Address

Then click the “Email My Packing List” button.
