What It Is

This toy line brings home animatronic-style companions with LCD eyes, moving facial expressions, and a mix of sounds including giggles, laughs, and chatter.

The Ewok is the first of three planned Batuu Adventure Buddies. The other two follow later at Disneyland Resort, and the full collection later debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort.

You’ll find the Ewok inside Droid Depot at Disneyland park, at a dedicated wall bay where a cast member helps you pick your companion and any gear. Once you choose, you take part in an activation moment that brings the toy to life for the first time.

The Activation Moment Is the Droid Depot Formula

This is a direct extension of what makes Droid Depot work.

Building a droid at Droid Depot isn’t really about the droid — it’s about the conveyor belt of parts, choosing components, and watching it power on for the first time. The ceremony is the product.

Applying that to a plush-style companion is a smart expansion. Same retail theater, different price point, and it opens the experience to guests who don’t want a full droid build.

How the Ewok Reacts

Tap the Ewok’s head once, or tap its belly twice, and it responds with a random reaction.

Three quick taps on the head unlock two extra animations:

Endor Dance Party — eye animations paired with Ewokese chanting and drumming. Other nearby Ewoks may join in.

Forest Call Chain — a fast double belly tap sends out a scout call, and other Batuu Adventure Buddies nearby can respond in their own language.

The Ewok also interacts with droids built at Droid Depot.

The Multi-Unit Interaction Is the Real Feature

Read those two animations again. Both are about other units responding.

Other nearby Ewoks joining a dance party. Other Adventure Buddies answering a scout call in their own language. Interaction with droids built at Droid Depot.

That’s a deliberate design choice, and a commercially clever one. A toy that does more when other units are present creates two pressures at once: buy more than one, and bring yours back to the park where others are.

It also means these will be genuinely fun in Galaxy’s Edge itself, where multiple units will be in proximity constantly. A guest walking through the land with an Ewok that keeps answering calls from strangers’ toys is a better experience than the same toy alone at home.

Gear Packs

You can add themed gear packs for an extra cost. Each pack connects to the Ewok’s left hand and triggers its own sounds and animations.

Endor Gear Set — spear, horn, grilled fish, and an Endor-issue poncho

Mandalore Gear Set — Mythosaur axe, nummies, beskar chest armor, and a shoulder cape

Batuu Gear Set — YT-1300 Freighter model, all-kit tool, ronto wrap, and a Bantuuan poncho

The grilled fish in the Endor set is a direct Return of the Jedi reference, and the ronto wrap in the Batuu set references Galaxy’s Edge’s own signature food item. Both are the kind of detail that rewards fans who know the material.

No pricing has been shared yet for the Ewok or the gear packs.

That’s the significant unknown. Droid Depot droid builds run over a hundred dollars, and interactive premium plush with animatronic features plus separately sold gear packs could add up quickly.

Where and When

Look for the Batuu Adventure Buddies Ewok inside Droid Depot at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Disneyland park, starting August 13, 2026.

For Walt Disney World Guests

Be clear on this: the August 13 launch is Disneyland only.

The other two Adventure Buddies follow later at Disneyland Resort, and the full collection later debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.

No date has been announced for the Walt Disney World arrival.

If you’re planning a Hollywood Studios trip specifically for this, wait for a confirmed date. Disneyland gets the launch and the exclusivity window.

What to Watch For

  • Pricing announcements ahead of the August 13 launch
  • The other two Adventure Buddies — species and characters unannounced
  • A Walt Disney World date for the full collection at Hollywood Studios
  • Whether gear packs are limited or ongoing merchandise

The Bottom Line

The Batuu Adventure Buddies line launches August 13, 2026 with an interactive Ewok at Droid Depot in Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, featuring LCD eyes, moving facial expressions, tap-activated reactions, and two special animations that trigger responses from other nearby units.

Three gear packs — Endor, Mandalore, and Batuu — connect to the Ewok’s left hand with their own sounds and animations.

Pricing hasn’t been announced. Walt Disney World guests will need to wait for the full collection to reach Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with no date confirmed.
