Hey Disney Vacationers! Walt Disney World has finally shared the first look inside The Beak and Barrel, the all-new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge opening at Magic Kingdom. This is a huge moment for park fans because Magic Kingdom rarely gets new spaces where guests can slow down, sip a drink, and soak in rich storytelling.
As someone who’s spent countless days exploring Adventureland, I can tell you this feels like a natural extension of Pirates of the Caribbean. Disney Imagineers have filled the lounge with pirate lore, hidden details, and layers of history that make it feel alive from the moment you walk through the doors.
First Look Inside The Beak and Barrel: Full Details
The lounge is made up of several themed spaces, each telling part of the story of how a Spanish stronghold was claimed and re-imagined by pirates. Here’s a room-by-room breakdown.
The Mess
The first space you enter is The Mess, once a mess hall for Spanish soldiers. Pirates later took it over and left their mark. Look up and you’ll see a ship’s bell — rumor says it belonged to Captain Redd’s first ship, a gift from a close friend or maybe a rival.
Long wooden tables invite groups to gather and share tales. A massive anchor turned chandelier drips with candles, casting warm light across the room. On the walls are Mermaid Windows, salvaged from a wrecked pirate ship, crusted with barnacles and filled with mystery.
In the back corner sits The Brig. The bars are still there, though the door was ripped off its hinges years ago. Sit here if you like, but the story goes that the walls remember the rogues they once held.
The Cursed Bar
The centerpiece of the lounge is a skull-shaped bar, lined with rare bottles and locked treasures. At its heart sits the Enchanted Rum Bottle, said to have been gifted by an enchantress. Legend claims the tavern’s barrels never run dry while the bottle stays full.
Above the bar, you’ll meet Rummy, a talking animatronic parrot who perches in the hollow of the skull’s eye. He cracks jokes, tells stories, and belts out shanties, keeping the place lively.

The Captains’ Quarters
Once the residence of a Spanish commander, this space still shows traces of luxury. Pirates added their own flair with scorch marks, sword slashes, and rough edges. A glowing fireplace anchors the room, with miniature ships in bottles decorating the mantel. These tiny ships aren’t just props — they’re rumored to come alive and battle for guests willing to watch long enough.
Along the wall sit Captains’ Booths, four large carved seating areas that tell stories of notorious pirates. A tucked-away game room adds another touch of pirate culture, with dice and cards scattered as if the last players left in a hurry.
The Mapmaker’s Room
This is the most mysterious part of The Beak and Barrel. The Mapmaker’s Room is cluttered with scrolls, parchment, and ink stains from a pirate cartographer some call brilliant, others call mad.
In the center, a large worktable is covered with tools and sketches. On one wall hangs a giant painted map of the pirate world. Guests can spend time here spotting secrets and Easter eggs — perhaps even clues to adventures beyond the lounge.
Why The Beak and Barrel Matters
Magic Kingdom has always been light on lounges. While EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios offer multiple themed bars, Magic Kingdom has remained more traditional. That’s why The Beak and Barrel is such a big deal. It’s not just a lounge — it’s a storytelling experience connected to one of the park’s most iconic rides.
What We Know About Food and Drinks
Disney has shared a full menu for The Beak and Barrel for a look at all the unique drinks and food options coming to The Beak and Barrel. Check out my article, where we look at the offerings. Including the new collectable pirate skull mug.

Final Thoughts
Taking this first look inside The Beak and Barrel, it’s clear Disney wanted to build more than a place to grab a drink. Every corner tells a story. From the anchor chandelier to the cursed rum bottle, this lounge blends Pirates of the Caribbean theming with interactive details that will make fans want to return again and again.
Disney summed it up best in their preview: “There is so much to discover, so much that no matter how many times ye visit The Beak and Barrel, yer experience will differ.”
And that’s exactly what makes this addition to Magic Kingdom worth getting excited about.
