Jaws Summer Overlay: The Biggest Addition to Universal Studios Florida This Summer
The centerpiece of this year’s Summer Movie Experiences is the expanded Jaws summer overlay in Universal Studios Florida’s San Francisco area. Universal has brought the Amity Island spirit back in a big way, with Jaws-themed decor, photo opportunities, and food that celebrates the legacy of the iconic film and its former attraction.
Photo ops include recreations of the Amity 6 and Captain Jake’s Amity Boat Tours sign (reportedly the original from the Jaws ride), Quint’s boat the Orca, and the famous “Help Shark!” Amity Beach billboard. If you were a fan of the ride, these spots hit differently.

New Food at Richter’s Burger Co. and Chez Alcatraz
Richter’s Burger Co. has received a full Jaws-themed makeover for the summer, turning the restaurant into a tribute to the film and its former attraction counterpart. The new menu features two standout items:
- “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat” Burger: Three smash patties with American cheese, grilled onions, secret sauce, and pickles on a Jaws-branded brioche bun. A well-executed, aggressively sized sandwich.
- “Shake Attack”: A tropical blue shake blending pineapple, orange, and coconut, finished with a strawberry “chomp” splash and a gummy shark on top.
Chez Alcatraz — one of the last surviving tributes to the former Jaws attraction — has expanded its drink menu with new cocktails: the tropical “Golden Shark,” the “Great White,” and the “Amity Island Iced Tea.” The last two are also available as non-alcoholic mocktails. The classic Ocean Attack remains on the menu, still served with a bartender performance by the legendary Murph.

Minions & Monsters: New Characters and Summer Treats in Minion Land
Illumination’s upcoming film Minions & Monsters has arrived at Universal Studios Florida with new limited-time entertainment and themed eats in Minion Land. Two new Minion characters — Henry and James from the upcoming film — are available for meet-and-greets at DreamWorks Theater. If you want photos with characters that will only be around until August 10, this is your window.

Minion Cafe is serving themed treats for the summer event. Highlights include the Monster Marshmallow Lemonade (strawberry lemonade with Sh’mallow marshmallow topping and candy eyeball sprinkles), Howard’s Berry Lemonade Cupcake, and the visually wild Irene’s Creamsicle Cheesecake Calzone — an oversized dessert covered in orange vanilla cream with candy eyeballs, filled with cheesecake bites and orange marmalade inside pizza dough. Rich, sweet, and a lot of food.

Spielberg Summer Blockbusters Exhibit: Props and Artifacts from Iconic Films
The new Spielberg Summer Blockbusters Exhibit in the Hollywood section of Universal Studios Florida is a must-see for anyone who grew up with these films. The limited-time experience showcases props, behind-the-scenes stories, and artifacts from some of Steven Spielberg’s most iconic Universal films — including Jurassic Park, Jaws, and E.T.
The exhibit also previews Universal Pictures’ upcoming film Disclosure Day, scheduled for theaters on June 12, with wardrobe and set pieces from the film on display.

Resort-Wide Summer Additions
The summer celebration extends beyond the parks. All 11 Universal Orlando Resort hotels are featuring large sand sculpture displays inspired by popular Universal franchises and characters. Each hotel also has specialty summer beverages available throughout the portfolio — worth asking about at your resort bar if you are staying on-property.
At Universal CityWalk, the Red Coconut Club has been transformed into the Re(d)tro Coconut Club — a retro-inspired experience with neon-heavy decor, vintage 90s aesthetics, specialty cocktails, and a nostalgia-driven soundtrack. Particularly fun if you are a Millennial who lived through that era the first time around.
Final Thoughts on Universal Studios Florida Summer Movie Experiences 2026
The Universal Studios Florida Summer Movie Experiences 2026 are a genuinely strong seasonal offering. The Jaws overlay in San Francisco delivers for longtime fans of the former attraction, the Spielberg Exhibit is worth the walk through for any film fan, and the Minions & Monsters additions give families with younger kids new reason to spend time in Minion Land. Everything runs through August 10 — if you have a Universal Orlando trip between now and then, build some time into your day for these.
