Non-Roller Coaster Rides at Universal Studios Florida

What you’ll find in this section:

  • Hogwarts Express
  • E.T. Adventure
  • Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
  • MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack
  • Transformers: The Ride 3D
  • Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast

Skipping the thrills? No problem—Universal still has tons of rides that won’t make your stomach do backflips. Start with the Hogwarts Express, a relaxing and immersive train ride that transports you between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. It’s a ride and a show in one, with magical scenes unfolding outside your window. (Please note you will need a Universal Park to Park ticket in order to experience this ride).

Next, step back into the 1980s with E.T. Adventure. It’s a slow-moving dark ride through a starry forest and across the galaxy as you help E.T. phone home. It’s classic, nostalgic, and surprisingly charming.

If you love animated chaos, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem delivers with a 3D motion simulator that puts you right in the middle of Minion mayhem. There are stationary seat options, too, if you want to skip the motion but not the fun.

MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack is like intergalactic laser tag. Spin through the streets of New York zapping aliens and trying to outscore your friends. It spins a little, but it’s tame compared to thrill rides.

Transformers: The Ride 3D is another simulator-style attraction that puts you in the middle of a battle between Autobots and Decepticons. It’s high-energy but not a coaster, and the 3D effects are impressive. If you have little ones who are not tall enough or choose not to, this ride does have Child Swap.

Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast is a moving walkway-style shooting game where you blast targets using a high-tech blaster as you join the Minion ranks. It’s family-friendly and easygoing, with plenty of laughs.
