Music of EPCOT

Walt Disney is on the track list. Disney Music Emporium and Walt Disney Records announced a two-LP vinyl release inspired by the 1983 album “The Official Album of EPCOT Center” — and it closes with Walt himself talking about EPCOT in 1967.

The Music of EPCOT vinyl will be available for pre-order at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event before its exclusive release through Disney Music Emporium on October 2.

Here’s the complete track list.

Quick Summary

  • A two-LP set inspired by 1983’s “The Official Album of EPCOT Center”
  • Pre-orders open at D23, with exclusive release through Disney Music Emporium October 2
  • Disc 1 covers classic 1983-era attraction audio
  • Disc 2 covers EPCOT’s current lineup
  • The set closes with a 1967 recording of Walt Disney discussing EPCOT
  • The announcement came through Instagram

What This Is

The original 1983 album captured the sound of EPCOT Center in its earliest days. This new pressing builds on that foundation, pairing classic attraction tracks with music from EPCOT’s current lineup.

You get both eras of the park on one release.

That structure — one disc of history, one disc of now — is the smart choice. A pure nostalgia release would appeal to a narrower audience, and a current-music-only album wouldn’t justify vinyl.

Disc 1, Side A

  • Main Entrance Medley (From “Future World”) — EPCOT Center Orchestra
  • Energy (You Make the World Go ‘Round) (From “Universe of Energy”) — John Joyce
  • The Computer Song (From “EPCOT Computer Central”) — Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman
  • Magic Journeys (Extended Version) (From “Journey Into Imagination”) — George Wilkins Singers and Orchestra
  • Canada (You’re a Lifetime Journey) (From “Canada in the World Showcase”) — Disney Studio Chorus
  • New Horizons (From “Horizons”) — Gloria Kaye

Disc 1, Side B

  • Universe of Energy (From “Universe of Energy”) — Joel Hirschhorn and Al Kasha
  • Listen to the Land (From “The Land”) — Robert Moline
  • One Little Spark (From “Journey Into Imagination”) — Chuck McCann and Billy Barty
  • It’s Fun to Be Free (From “World of Motion”) — Buddy Baker and Xavier Atencio
  • Makin’ Memories (From “Journey Into Imagination”) — Disney Studio Chorus
  • Kitchen Kabaret Medley (From “The Land”) — The Cereal Sisters, Hamm and Eggz, Colander Combo and the Fiesta Fruit
  • It’s Fun to Be Free (1983 Jazz Version) (From “World of Motion”) — Buddy Baker and Xavier Atencio

Disc 1 Is a Memorial

Look at what’s on that first disc: Universe of Energy, Horizons, World of Motion, Kitchen Kabaret, EPCOT Computer Central.

Every one of those attractions is gone.

Horizons closed in 1999 and remains the most mourned attraction in EPCOT history. World of Motion became Test Track. Universe of Energy became Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Kitchen Kabaret closed in 1994.

“New Horizons” appearing on an official Disney vinyl release in 2026 is genuinely notable. That song has been passed around by fans for twenty-five years as a relic of a park that no longer exists.

“One Little Spark” is the exception — the Sherman Brothers song from Journey Into Imagination survives in the current Imagination pavilion, though the original ride it was written for does not.

Disc 2, Side A

  • EPCOT Suite (From “Arrival Plaza”) — Pinar Toprak
  • Opening (From “EPCOT: Test Track”) — Zain Effendi
  • Soarin’ Around the World (From “Soarin’ Around the World”) — Bruce Broughton
  • Xandar Gallery (From “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind”) — Tyler Bates

Disc 2, Side B

  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (Ride-Through Mix) — Michael Giacchino
  • Where You Are – Leap Fountain Zone (From “EPCOT Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana,” Instrumental) — EPCOT Journey of Water Chorus
  • Reflection (From “China Pavilion Area Music”) — Christopher Tin
  • Remember Me (From “Mexico Pavilion Area Music”) — Germaine Franco
  • Heartbeat Symphony (From “Luminous: The Symphony of Us,” Soundtrack Version) — Sheléa
  • Walt Disney Talking About EPCOT (From “Walt Disney’s EPCOT,” 1967) — Walt Disney

The Closing Track

Ending the set with Walt Disney talking about EPCOT in 1967 is the decision that elevates this from a soundtrack compilation to something with a point of view.

That 1967 recording is from the EPCOT film Walt made shortly before his death — the presentation laying out his vision for an actual working city. It’s the most famous piece of Disney corporate footage ever produced, and the park that opened in 1982 bore only partial resemblance to what he described.

Placing it at the very end, after two discs spanning 1983 to the present, frames the whole release as a conversation between what was imagined and what got built.

That’s a genuinely thoughtful piece of sequencing.

Composer Notes

Disc 2 assembles a strong roster:

  • Michael Giacchino — the Ratatouille ride-through mix, from one of the most decorated composers working
  • Christopher Tin — the China Pavilion area music, a two-time Grammy winner
  • Germaine Franco — Mexico Pavilion, the composer behind Encanto’s score
  • Pinar Toprak — the EPCOT Suite for Arrival Plaza
  • Tyler Bates — Cosmic Rewind’s Xandar Gallery

Area music getting album treatment is unusual and welcome. Background loops in World Showcase pavilions are among the most-heard and least-credited music in the parks.

How to Buy

If you’re headed to D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, you’ll be able to pre-order this two-LP set in person.

After that, it moves to an exclusive release through Disney Music Emporium starting October 2.

“Exclusive” is the operative word. Disney Music Emporium releases are typically limited pressings sold direct, and they sell out. If this matters to you, the D23 pre-order is the safer route.

The Bottom Line

The Music of EPCOT vinyl is a two-LP set pairing classic 1983-era attraction audio — including Horizons, Universe of Energy, World of Motion, and Kitchen Kabaret — with current park music from Cosmic Rewind, Journey of Water, Luminous, and World Showcase area loops.

It closes with Walt Disney talking about EPCOT in 1967.

Pre-orders open at D23, with exclusive release through Disney Music Emporium on October 2. Pre-order if you can — these pressings don’t linger.
