The key perk here: you do not need to be inside a theme park to join the queue at 7:00 am. You can grab your boarding group from home, your hotel, or wherever you are — as long as your park reservation is for Hollywood Studios that day.

11:00 AM Distribution

The midday window is available to Passholders who have a park reservation for any theme park that day — not just Hollywood Studios. However, there’s a catch: you must physically enter your reserved park before you head to Hollywood Studios. So if you’ve got an EPCOT reservation, check in at EPCOT first, then make your way over.

3:00 PM Distribution

This is the most flexible window. Any Annual Passholder with valid admission can join the 3:00 pm distribution — no park reservation required at all. This is the best option if you didn’t plan ahead with a reservation but still want a shot at riding before the public opening.

Free Attraction Photos During the Preview Period

Here’s a bonus that makes the preview period even more appealing. Passholders who ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets during the May 21–23 window will receive complimentary downloads of their attraction photos.

You’ll hear “Song 2,” “Born To Be Wild” featuring Camilla the Chicken, “Love Rollercoaster” featuring Jennifer Hudson and Questlove, “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” featuring Def Leppard, and “Walking on Sunshine” featuring Kelly Clarkson. Each song plays through 120 speakers per limo synchronized perfectly to the ride.

What’s New in the Experience

The reimagined ride introduces the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter, who appears in the preshow. G-Force Records is now under full Muppet management with penguin audio engineers running the boards. The preshow features “Can You Picture That?” in a rehearsal setting, and there’s a post-show concert element that continues the fun after you exit.

Look out for the psychedelic Stratocaster guitar — it’s one of the visual showpieces of the reimagined queue and ride area, featuring pink, blue, purple, and rainbow colors. The ride mechanics haven’t changed. You’re still hitting 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds on the launch, still flying through two roll-over loops and one corkscrew. The thrill level is identical — it’s just The Muppets who are along for the ride now instead of Aerosmith.

How to Join the Virtual Queue

The process is straightforward. Make a Hollywood Studios park reservation if you’re targeting the 7:00 am or want maximum flexibility. Open the My Disney Experience app at your chosen distribution time. Request to join the virtual queue, then wait for your boarding group to be called. When your group is ready, head over to the attraction.

You do not need to be inside a theme park for any of the three distribution times — that’s the part that catches people off guard. But remember the 11:00 am window requires you to have entered your reserved park before heading to Hollywood Studios.
