There’s a new face at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and she’s hard to miss. A rare albino wallaby joey named Quartz has joined Jumping Junction at Conservation Station, and guests can already see her in the Australian animal habitat.
Disney introduced her simply: “Born with albinism, Quartz’s rare appearance makes her one of a kind.” With an all-white coat and pink eyes, she looks nothing like the other wallabies around her.
Quick Summary
- A rare albino wallaby joey named Quartz has joined Jumping Junction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
- Quartz is already visible to guests in the habitat.
- Albinism gives her an all-white coat and pink eyes, and it’s uncommon in wallabies.
- Jumping Junction opened alongside Bluey’s Wild World in May 2026 at Conservation Station.
- You reach it by taking the Wildlife Express Train from near Harambe Market in Africa. No Bluey’s Wild World queue is needed.
What Is Albinism?
Albinism is a rare genetic condition that results in little or no pigment in the skin, fur, and eyes. In wallabies, that produces the striking all-white coat and pink eyes you can see in the photos of Quartz.
The condition shows up across many animal species, but it’s uncommon in wallabies. That makes Quartz a genuinely rare sight, and seeing one in person is not something most guests will get to do anywhere else.
Animals with albinism often have more sensitive eyes and skin than their pigmented relatives, which is one of the reasons they tend to do well in professionally managed habitats where keepers can keep a close eye on them. Disney hasn’t shared specifics about Quartz’s care, but the Animal Kingdom animal care team is known for its conservation and animal health work.
About Wallaby Joeys
A joey is a baby marsupial. Wallaby joeys spend their first several months developing in their mother’s pouch before they start venturing out on their own, and even then they’ll often hop back in when they want to rest or feel safe.
That means if you visit Jumping Junction and don’t spot Quartz right away, she may be tucked away with her mom. Give it a few minutes. Joeys tend to pop their heads out and move around, especially when it’s cooler out.
What Is Jumping Junction?
Jumping Junction opened in May 2026 alongside Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station. It replaced the former Affection Section petting zoo and is home to kangaroos and wallabies, giving guests a close look at animals native to Australia, which happens to be Bluey’s home country.
It’s a nice pairing with the Bluey experience. Kids who just played through Bluey’s world can see real Australian animals a few steps away.
How to Visit Quartz
Getting to Jumping Junction takes a little planning, since Conservation Station isn’t connected to the rest of Animal Kingdom by a walking path.
- Take the Wildlife Express Train. The train station is near Harambe Market in the Africa section of the park.
- Skip the Bluey line. You don’t need to join the Bluey’s Wild World queue to visit Jumping Junction. The animal exhibits are accessible separately.
- Plan your timing. The train ride and walk add time to your visit, so build in at least an hour for the round trip and a look around Conservation Station.
- Check hours in the app. Conservation Station and the Wildlife Express Train can have shorter hours than the park itself, so check the My Disney Experience app before you head over.
Tips for Seeing the Wallabies
- Go early. Like most animals, wallabies are often more active in the cooler morning hours.
- Be patient. Joeys spend a lot of time in or near the pouch. A few minutes of watching usually pays off.
- Ask a cast member. The animal care team at Conservation Station is happy to answer questions and may be able to point out where Quartz is.
- Keep your voice down. Calm, quiet guests make for calmer animals, and you’ll get a better look.
Why This Is Worth the Trip
Conservation Station is one of the most overlooked parts of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. A lot of guests skip it because it’s out of the way. But between Bluey’s Wild World, Jumping Junction, and now a rare albino wallaby joey, there’s more reason than ever to make the trip, especially if you’re visiting with kids who love animals.
The Bottom Line
Quartz, a rare albino wallaby joey, is now at Jumping Junction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and you can see her today. Her all-white coat and pink eyes make her one of a kind, and albinism is uncommon in wallabies. To visit, take the Wildlife Express Train from near Harambe Market. You don’t need to wait in the Bluey’s Wild World queue to see the animals. Go in the morning, be patient, and you might catch her peeking out of the pouch.
