Magic Kingdom DVC Member Lounge: What We Know So Far

Hey there, Disney Vacation Club Members! Big news is on the horizon: according Scott Gustin, Disney confirmed the rumors of a new Magic Kingdom DVC Member Lounge. This exciting update is set to add a new layer of magic and exclusivity to the Disney Vacation Club experience. Here’s everything you need to know about this upcoming addition.

What’s Happening?

According to the Orlando Sentinel the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade is closing its doors for good on June 23rd. This nostalgic spot has been a staple since the park opened, and it even switched to free-to-play back in October 2021. Although the Walt Disney World website hasn’t been updated with this news yet, it’s official. The closure is making room for the Magic Kingdom DVC lounge. So, if you want to enjoy the arcade one last time, make sure to swing by before it’s too late!

• New Lounge Location: The new lounge will replace the venerable Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade in Magic Kingdom.
• Construction Timeline: Construction is set to begin later in 2024. However, no specific opening date has been announced yet.
• Design Inspiration: Disney representatives have revealed that the lounge will be a “pioneer-inspired space” influenced by “the bygone era of exploration and adventure.”

The Lounge Experience

• A Third Members-Only Space: This will be the third members-only lounge at Walt Disney World, joining the existing spaces at EPCOT’s Imagination Pavilion and Top of the World Lounge – a Villain’s Lair at Bay Lake Tower.It’s worth noting that the EPCOT lounge is currently closed for refurbishment, making the new Magic Kingdom lounge a much-anticipated addition.

Frontierland’s Future

• Additional Changes: Besides the new lounge, Frontierland is set to welcome several new attractions and updates:
  • The new Country Bears Musical Jamboree this summer.
  • A potential retheme of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe to align with the nearby Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Disney has hinted at more growth and investment planned for Frontierland, emphasizing that the area will continue to evolve with new and exciting experiences for guests.

What This Means for DVC Members

For Disney Vacation Club members, the new lounge offers:

• A Place to Relax and Recharge: Similar to other DVC lounges, it will likely provide a tranquil spot to take a break from the park’s hustle and bustle, enjoy complimentary refreshments, and recharge devices.
• Exclusivity and Convenience: Positioned in the heart of Magic Kingdom, the lounge will add an extra layer of convenience and exclusivity to the DVC membership.
• Parade Viewing: Based on the location of the lounge and rumored potential for a second-story, the new Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge could become a solid viewing location for parades.

The new Magic Kingdom DVC Member Lounge is set to offer Disney Vacation Club members a unique and exclusive space within the park. Replacing the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, this pioneer-inspired lounge is part of a broader transformation of Frontierland.

As of now, Disney has yet to unveil the full details of the Magic Kingdom DVC Lounge, including its exact features, and opening date. Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip. Nate was VERY responsive to emails and texts and more than willing to do whatever he could to guide us and answer our questions.  On several occasions I emailed him over the weekend not expecting a response until Monday but each time he responded before the weekend was over.
