The August Limited Cookie: Peanut Butter Cold Brew

This one is a thick, almost half-pound peanut butter cookie laced with freshly ground Lineage Roasted Decaf Espresso, then fully covered in chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Reese’s Pieces.

The decaf espresso detail is worth pausing on. Using decaf in a cookie is the correct call — you get the roasted, slightly bitter coffee note that cuts peanut butter’s richness without loading a half-pound cookie with caffeine. It’s a small decision that shows the recipe was thought through.

Peanut Butter Cold Brew Cake

The same flavor combination translates into cake form this month.

The Peanut Butter Cold Brew Cake is a double-frosted build stacking three layers of chocolate cake with alternating peanut butter buttercream and mocha espresso buttercream. Reese’s Pieces and peanut butter cups go in throughout.

The Cake Is the Better Buy

Controversial opinion, but the cake usually outperforms the cookie at Gideon’s and this month should be no exception.

The cookie is enormous and dense by design — that’s the appeal, and it’s also the limitation. A half-pound of cookie in one flavor register gets monotonous halfway through.

A three-layer cake with two different buttercreams alternating between layers gives you contrast in every bite. Peanut butter against mocha espresso is a genuinely good pairing, and the alternation means you’re never eating the same thing twice.

The Wednesday-and-Saturday-only availability is the catch. Plan around it.

Cold Brew at Disney Springs

Stuart’s Orange Mocha Nitro Cold Brew is staying through August — Disney Springs only.

Oat milk, maple syrup, mocha, and fresh orange in nitro cold brew form. It was supposed to be a July exclusive, but it’s back for one more month.

Orange and chocolate is an underused combination in coffee, and nitro is the right format for it — the texture carries the mocha without needing sugar to do the work. If you skipped it in July, this is your second chance.

August Collectible Menu

Gilbert is on the August collectible menu. The character made an appearance in a previous month and is back for another run.

The collectible menus are a genuinely clever loyalty mechanic. They cost Gideon’s almost nothing, they give people a reason to visit monthly, and they’ve developed a secondary market of their own.

Gideon’s is openly selling you a fan because you’re going to stand outside in Florida heat waiting to get into their store. That’s either excellent self-aware merchandising or a quiet admission about wait times, and it’s probably both.

Either way, it’s a practical purchase if you’re queuing in August.

Planning Tips

• Two locations: Disney Springs and East End Market. The cookie and cake are at both; Stuart’s cold brew is Disney Springs only.
• Go early for the cookie. “While supplies last each day” means daily sellouts are expected.
• Wednesdays and Saturdays only for cake slices. Build that into your trip.
• Whole cake preorders are East End Market only. If you want the full cake, that’s the location.
• The Disney Springs line is real. Gideon’s has drawn long queues since opening in December 2020. Early morning and late evening are your best windows.
• Six Ravens is a few doors down. The hand pie concept from the same team is now open in Town Center, so you can hit both in one trip.
