Is It Worth It?
Do the maths before booking, because the value case here is narrower than most fireworks packages.
What you’re actually buying is the meal plus a viewing position. Shiki-Sai sits inside the Japan Pavilion, which faces World Showcase Lagoon directly — one of the better natural vantage points for Luminous on the promenade.
Compare it to eating there normally. A comparable sushi and sashimi spread at Shiki-Sai à la carte would run a substantial portion of $120 on its own, so the premium for the viewing element is smaller than the headline number suggests.
Compare it to a dessert party instead. Fireworks dessert parties at EPCOT typically cost less and deliver far less food. If you were going to eat dinner anyway, this is the more sensible spend.
Where it gets expensive is a family. Two adults and two children is $448.40 with tax and gratuity. That’s a significant evening.
The honest verdict: good value if you already wanted a proper sushi dinner and want a guaranteed Luminous view. Poor value if you’re buying it primarily for the fireworks — the lagoon has free viewing all the way around it.

The Dining Plan Exclusion Matters
This is the detail most likely to catch people out.
Disney Dining Plan credits do not work here, which puts the full cost out of pocket even for guests who’ve prepaid for meals.
That’s standard for fireworks dining packages across Walt Disney World — the premium element is the viewing, and Disney doesn’t discount it through the plan. But if you’re travelling on a package that includes dining, budget this separately.
About Shiki-Sai
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is the Japan Pavilion’s sushi restaurant, occupying the space on the upper level of the Mitsukoshi building.
“Izakaya” refers to a Japanese pub-style establishment — informal, drink-focused, food served in small plates rather than courses. The name Shiki-Sai translates roughly to “four seasons, four colors.”
It’s operated by Mitsukoshi, the Japanese department store company that has run the Japan Pavilion’s retail and dining since EPCOT opened in 1982 — one of the longest-running operating participant relationships at Walt Disney World.
That matters for a sushi package specifically. The Japan Pavilion’s food operations have always been run by an actual Japanese company rather than by Disney, which is a large part of why the pavilion’s dining has a better reputation than most of World Showcase.
Timing It With the Festival
The first available dates land October 2, which puts the package squarely inside the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, running August 27 through November 21.
That creates a decision. A $120 sushi dinner and a full evening of festival marketplaces are competing for the same appetite and the same budget.
The practical approach: treat the Shiki-Sai package as the anchor and graze lightly earlier in the day, rather than trying to do both properly.
Booking early matters more during festival season, when EPCOT’s evening dining is at its most contested.
How This Compares to EPCOT’s Other Fireworks Packages
Shiki-Sai isn’t the only way to guarantee a Luminous view with a meal attached, and the options differ more than they look.
Rose & Crown Dining Room in the United Kingdom pavilion is the long-standing favourite, with patio tables directly on the lagoon. It’s the most sought-after fireworks dining at EPCOT and books out furthest ahead.
Spice Road Table in Morocco offers lagoon-side seating with Mediterranean small plates.
Coral Reef and Space 220 don’t face the lagoon at all — worth knowing if you’re assuming any EPCOT signature dining includes a view.
Dessert parties are the cheaper alternative, typically running well under a full dinner package, but they deliver sweets and a viewing area rather than a meal.
Where Shiki-Sai Fits
It’s the only sushi option in this category, which is the real differentiator. Rose & Crown is pub food; Spice Road is Mediterranean. If you want Japanese, this is the package.
The 8:00 pm seating is also fixed, which is simpler than the “arrive by” windows some packages use, but less flexible if you want an earlier dinner.
Japan’s position on the lagoon is genuinely good — it sits roughly opposite the American Adventure on the eastern curve, with clear sightlines across the water.
Booking Practicalities
Reservations open 60 days ahead in line with Walt Disney World dining, though this package launched with October dates already loadable.
Same-day availability exists but is limited, and during Food & Wine season it should be treated as unlikely rather than as a fallback.
Cancellation policies on fireworks dining packages are typically stricter than standard dining reservations, often requiring more notice to avoid a per-person charge. Confirm the terms when you book.
Party size matters. Fireworks packages generally cap at smaller group sizes than standard reservations, so larger parties may need to split across tables.
