Disney has locked in May 26 as the opening date for two new additions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Courtyard. Both debut on the same day, giving guests a meaningful chunk of the new Animation Courtyard transformation to experience right away.
Quick Summary
- Disney has set May 26, 2026 as the opening date for the new Hollywood Studios Courtyard area and Disney Jr. experiences.
- The opening aligns with Memorial Day weekend, one of the busiest weeks of the year at Walt Disney World.
- Disney Jr. content will be a central part of the new area, with attractions and entertainment targeting younger guests and families.
- Expect significant crowd levels on and around May 26 — plan your Lightning Lane strategy in advance.
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!
This 20-minute stage show is inspired by the Disney Jr. series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ and brings the whole gang together — Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto. The show features original songs, dance numbers, and interactive elements that get the audience involved.
The story follows Mickey and Minnie welcoming guests to Mickey’s house for a party. When their friends haven’t arrived yet, the two set off on the road to find them — building toward a high-energy finale once everyone is finally together. It’s classic Mickey Mouse Clubhouse energy, updated for the newer series and designed to pull young kids right into the action.
For families with little ones who are deep into the Disney Jr. lineup, this show is going to be a huge hit. Live stage shows with character interaction are always a standout experience for kids, and the interactive format makes it even better.
The Reimagined Walt Disney Studios Courtyard
The surrounding courtyard area — the studio-lot-inspired environment Disney has been constructing around Animation Courtyard — also opens May 26. This space replaces the former Animation Courtyard gateway and surrounding pathways with a more immersive, cohesive feel that leans into the Hollywood Studios studio-lot theme.
What’s Still Coming: The Magic of Disney Animation Building
The larger building — The Magic of Disney Animation — doesn’t have an opening date yet. But when it does open, it’s going to be a substantial addition. Here’s what’s planned inside:
Olaf Draws! is an Animation Academy-style drawing class hosted by an Audio-Animatronics Olaf, with real Disney animators providing instruction. Enchanted Art Gallery is a curated art space where Disney characters spring to life from the artwork around you. Once Upon A Studio Theater is a dedicated screening room for the Emmy Award-winning short film, enhanced with new effects. Drawn to Wonderland Playground is an indoor play area for younger kids inspired by Alice in Wonderland concept art from Disney Legend Mary Blair. And there will be multiple character greeting locations throughout.
That’s a legitimately impressive lineup for a single building. The combination of the Olaf drawing experience, the gallery, and the theater makes this feel like a destination within a destination — not just a quick stop.
Planning Your Visit
May 26 is a Memorial Day weekend opening — one of the busiest travel periods of the year. If you want to experience Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! and the new courtyard without the crush of a holiday weekend, aim for the week after Memorial Day when crowds typically settle back down. Either way, this is now a firm date to plan around.
