That eight-day gap matters more than it sounds. Castaway Club tiers — Pearl, Platinum, Gold, Silver — book ahead of the public, and the most in-demand sailings can be substantially picked over before general on-sale. If you’re a repeat cruiser, know your tier and your date.
Disney Wish: New York, San Juan, and Port Canaveral
The Disney Wish arrives in New York in late September 2027, after wrapping its first season in Europe. From there it runs seven sailings ranging from four to seven nights.
- Five sailings stop in Bermuda. Three of those add an extra day on the island
- The ship returns to New England and Atlantic Canada for the first time in nearly four years, with stops in Boston, Massachusetts; St. John, New Brunswick; and Halifax, Nova Scotia
- One five-night sailing runs New York to San Juan, with a Bermuda stop along the way
After New York, the Wish repositions to San Juan for a seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise, stopping in Aruba, St. Maarten, Bonaire, and Dominica.
From there it sails a four-night trip to Port Canaveral, stopping at both Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Once in Port Canaveral, the Wish settles into three- and four-night Bahamian sailings, including both private islands.
Disney Fantasy: San Juan and Fort Lauderdale
The Fantasy adds more San Juan sailings:
- A seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise from San Juan in December 2027
- A five-night Eastern Caribbean cruise ending in Fort Lauderdale
- Two seven-night Southern Caribbean sailings in late April and May 2028, stopping in Curaçao, Bonaire, Barbados, and Antigua
Before those, the Fantasy spends September through November 2027 in Port Canaveral, running four- and five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises.
It then moves to Fort Lauderdale for four- to seven-night Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean itineraries — including an eight-night Bermuda cruise, its first, with stops at both Bahamian islands.
Disney Magic: Panama Canal, San Diego, and Galveston
The Magic sails two Panama Canal repositioning cruises this season, and both include first-ever ports:
- November 2027: a 14-night eastbound sailing from San Diego to Galveston, with a first-ever stop in Fuerte Amador (Panama City), Panama
- March 2028: a 14-night westbound sailing from Galveston to San Diego, with a first-ever stop in Colon, Panama
The Magic opens the season in San Diego with three- to seven-night Baja and Mexican Riviera cruises, then heads to Galveston for four- to seven-night sailings, including select seven-night Bahamian itineraries stopping at both private islands.
Why the Panama Canal Sailings Are the Interesting Ones
Repositioning cruises are how a fleet moves ships between coasts, and Disney has to do it regardless. Selling the crossing as a product is free revenue on a voyage that would otherwise sail nearly empty.
Two new ports in one season is unusual for DCL. Fuerte Amador and Colon sit at opposite ends of the canal, which suggests Disney is building out the transit as a genuine itinerary rather than a delivery run.
Fourteen nights is also the longest product Disney sells regularly, and it attracts a different customer than a three-night Bahamas hop — older, more experienced cruisers, fewer families.
Disney Wonder: San Diego
The Wonder stays in San Diego for the full season, running three- to seven-night cruises with stops in Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and Catalina Island, California.
Disney Destiny: Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale
The Destiny opens in Fort Lauderdale with three- to five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises.
It then becomes the first Wish-class ship to homeport in Port Canaveral, running three- to seven-night sailings to the same regions.
Disney Dream: Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale
The Dream sails three- and four-night Bahamian cruises from Port Canaveral before moving to Fort Lauderdale in November 2027 for three- to five-night Bahamian sailings — including a six-night cruise with two stops at Disney Castaway Cay.
Disney Treasure: Port Canaveral
The Treasure continues seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings, with stops including Tortola and Falmouth, Jamaica.
It also adds one eight-night Eastern Caribbean sailing and a six-night Bahamian cruise with two Castaway Cay stops.
Disney Adventure: Singapore
The Adventure keeps sailing three- and four-night itineraries from Singapore, September through December 2027.
Select sailings from December 31, 2026 through May 2027 add a new port: Langkawi, Malaysia.
Port Canaveral Gets a Third Ship
Starting November 2027, three Wish-class ships will sail from Port Canaveral, adding more options close to Walt Disney World.
This is the structurally significant line in the whole announcement.
Port Canaveral is DCL’s highest-volume homeport because of the Walt Disney World cross-sell — guests pair a park stay with a short cruise. Concentrating three of the newest, largest ships there means substantially more capacity aimed at that exact package.
It also means the older ships get pushed outward to San Diego, Galveston, Fort Lauderdale, and Singapore, which is the natural consequence of a fleet growing from eight ships toward thirteen.
Holiday Sailings Return
- Halloween on the High Seas starts in September 2027 on select ships
- Very Merrytime sailings return in November and December 2027, with a tree lighting, deck parties, and visits from Santa
The Bottom Line
Disney Cruise Line’s Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 schedule brings New York back for the first time since 2023, puts a third Wish-class ship in Port Canaveral, and adds two Panama Canal crossings with first-ever stops in Fuerte Amador and Colon.
The Fantasy gets its first eight-night Bermuda cruise, the Adventure adds Langkawi, and both Halloween and Very Merrytime sailings return.
Castaway Club booking opens August 31, general booking September 8.
