Hey Disney Vacationers! Figment fans, this one’s for you. If you’ve ever wondered whether Disney would finally give EPCOT’s beloved purple dragon more screen time outside the parks, Bob Iger just gave us a reason to pay attention. That’s right, we could see more Figment content in the future!
During The Walt Disney Company Annual Meeting of Shareholders 2025, Iger acknowledged what many Disney fans (and investors) have been saying for years—Figment is a big deal. And now, it sounds like Disney may be looking at expanding Figment’s presence beyond EPCOT.
Bob Iger on Figment: “Good Old Figment” Might Get More Love
At the shareholder meeting, Iger addressed the frequent questions about Figment. And by frequent, we mean at least 15 times over the years.
“This is my 24th shareholder call, my 18th as CEO. And I think the question about Figment has been asked about 15 times. I call him good old Figment.”
That’s a lot of Figment talk. But it makes sense—he’s one of Disney’s most iconic park-exclusive characters, and fans have been asking for more. Iger made it clear that Disney knows how much people love Figment.
“We know that he’s popular with shareholders because of the fact that they ask questions about him all the time. But we also know that he’s popular at EPCOT, where you can meet him and experience Journey Into Imagination.”
That last part is key. Figment is already a hit at EPCOT, but what about outside the parks? That’s where things get interesting.
More Figment Content Could Be Coming
Iger went on to say something that immediately caught Disney fans’ attention.
“I’ll tell you why—I’ve been asked this so many times that I am going to ask our creative teams to consider making some form of series or short-form videos of Figment. Because obviously, he’s more popular than just a walk-around character in our parks and resorts.”
That’s huge. While he didn’t confirm anything specific, he made it clear that Disney is looking into new Figment content.
What Could This Mean?
Here’s where things get fun. If Disney is exploring a series or short-form content featuring Figment, we could see:
• A Disney+ animated series—Think of something in the style of Forky Asks a Question, Olaf Presents, or even a full-fledged show.
• Shorts on Disney+ or YouTube—Quick-hit videos featuring Figment’s imaginative adventures.
• More Figment cameos—Figment has already popped up in the Inside Out franchise. Could he play a bigger role in future Pixar projects?
• A return to comics—Disney previously partnered with Marvel for a Figment comic book series, and this could be an opportunity to bring back Dreamfinder and expand his story.
Figment’s History Outside of EPCOT
While Figment is mostly known for Journey Into Imagination, he’s had a few appearances outside the parks:
• He appeared as a background character in Inside Out, sparking speculation that he could have a future in Pixar’s world.
• Marvel published a Figment comic series in 2014, giving him a full-fledged backstory with Dreamfinder.
• He’s popped up in various Disney educational materials and promotional videos over the years.
With Inside Out 2 hitting theaters in 2024, there’s already buzz about a potential Inside Out 3. If that happens, could Figment make a bigger appearance?
What About the Imagination Pavilion?
This Figment news also comes at a time when fans have been speculating about the future of Journey Into Imagination.
Some rumors suggest that EPCOT’s Imagination Pavilion could eventually be re-themed to Inside Out. The timeline for this wouldn’t be until at least 2030, but if Disney is investing in Figment content, could that mean the attraction is safe?
For now, Disney hasn’t announced any updates to the ride, but Iger’s comments show that Figment’s future is far from over.
Final Thoughts: Figment’s Future Is Looking Bright
Bob Iger’s comments might not be an official announcement, but they confirm something important—Disney knows how much Figment matters. Whether it’s an animated series, YouTube shorts, or more park experiences, it sounds like Disney is finally listening to the fans.
So, what do you think? Would you watch a Figment series on Disney+? Do you want to see him in Inside Out 3? Or should Disney go all-in and bring back Dreamfinder for a full-blown comeback?
One thing’s for sure—Figment’s story isn’t over yet. And for Disney fans, that’s pretty exciting.
