Everything is moving up 15 minutes. The EPCOT Festival of the Holidays showtimes have shifted for 2026, and the reason is simple: the park is closing earlier this year.
EPCOT closes at 9:00pm during the festival, down from 9:30pm in previous years. That one change cascades through the whole evening — Luminous moves earlier, and all three Candlelight Processional performances move earlier with it.
If you have done this festival before and are working off last year’s schedule, every time you have memorized is now wrong. Here is the new lineup and what it means for planning your night.
Quick Summary
- EPCOT closes at 9:00pm during the 2026 Festival of the Holidays, down from 9:30pm
- The festival runs November 27 through December 30, 2026
- Luminous The Symphony of Us moves to 9:15pm, from 9:30pm
- Candlelight Processional shifts to 4:45pm, 6:30pm, and 8:00pm
- Previous years ran 5:00pm, 6:45pm, and 8:15pm
- Every showtime moved 15 minutes earlier
The Park Closes Earlier This Year
According to the latest operating hours, EPCOT will close at 9:00pm during the Festival of the Holidays, running November 27 through December 30, 2026.
In previous years the park stayed open until 9:30pm during the festival. Losing that half hour is the change everything else follows from.
For planning purposes, that means your World Showcase evening is 30 minutes shorter than it was last year. If you had a routine of a late dinner followed by a slow loop before the show, compress it.
Luminous Moves to 9:15pm
Luminous The Symphony of Us still begins after park close, now at 9:15pm for 2026 — slightly earlier than the 9:30pm start of previous years.
The key detail: the show still runs after the park’s posted closing time. That has not changed. If you have a ticket for the evening, you stay for Luminous after 9:00pm.
What has changed is your buffer. Fifteen minutes less between the last Candlelight show and Luminous means less time to move from the America Gardens Theatre to a viewing spot on the lagoon.
Candlelight Processional Times
All three performances shifted earlier.
2026 showtimes: 4:45pm, 6:30pm, and 8:00pm
Previous years: 5:00pm, 6:45pm, and 8:15pm
Fifteen minutes on each show. If you booked a dining package expecting a 5:00pm start, check your reservation against the new schedule.
The 8:00pm show now wraps up around 9:00pm, aligning with park close and leaving time for Luminous to follow at 9:15pm. That sequencing is clearly deliberate rather than accidental — Disney built the evening so the last Candlelight performance hands off directly to the nighttime show.
How to Plan the Evening
Here is the practical read on the new schedule.
If you want both Candlelight and Luminous in one night, take the 8:00pm show. It ends right around 9:00pm and Luminous starts at 9:15pm. That is the tightest, cleanest pairing on the calendar, and it is obviously what the schedule was built for.
But do not expect a leisurely walk between them. Fifteen minutes to exit America Gardens Theatre and find a lagoon viewing spot during the busiest season of the year is not much. Have your viewing area picked before the Candlelight show starts.
If you want a relaxed Luminous view, take the 4:45pm or 6:30pm show instead. You will have hours of buffer, and you can stake out a spot properly.
The 4:45pm show is the sleeper pick. It is the earliest, typically the least crowded, and it leaves your entire evening open for World Showcase, dining, and an unhurried Luminous.
What This Means for Dining Packages
If you booked a Candlelight Processional dining package, your seating badge is tied to a showtime, and that showtime has moved.
Check the timing against your meal reservation. A dinner booked to finish comfortably before a 5:00pm show now has 15 fewer minutes to work with.
This is the most likely place for people to get caught out, especially anyone who booked early in the fall based on prior-year patterns.
The 2026 narrator schedule is unaffected — only the clock changed, not who is performing on which night.
Why the Earlier Close Matters Beyond the Shows
The showtimes get the attention, but a 9:00pm park close changes more than the entertainment schedule.
World Showcase dining gets tighter. A 7:30pm dinner reservation that used to leave a comfortable margin now runs much closer to closing. If you have a late seating booked at a World Showcase restaurant, check how long that meal typically takes.
Festival booths close with the park. The Holiday Kitchens operate on park hours, so the window for working your way around World Showcase shrinks by half an hour. On a busy December night, that is one or two fewer booths.
Shopping time shrinks too. Merchandise locations close with the park, and the holiday season is when people are actually buying. Build that in rather than saving it for the end.
A Note on Operating Hours
These times reflect the operating hours currently posted for the festival period. Disney adjusts park hours regularly, and the holiday season sees more changes than most stretches of the year.
Extended hours on peak dates around Christmas and New Year would not be unusual, and that would shift Luminous later again on those specific nights.
Check the My Disney Experience app the week of your visit rather than relying on a September schedule for a late-December trip. The 15-minute shift described here is the baseline, not a guarantee for every night of the festival.
The Bottom Line
The 2026 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays showtimes all moved 15 minutes earlier because EPCOT now closes at 9:00pm rather than 9:30pm.
Luminous runs at 9:15pm. Candlelight Processional runs at 4:45pm, 6:30pm, and 8:00pm.
If you are planning to do both in one night, the 8:00pm Candlelight into 9:15pm Luminous is the intended pairing, but budget your walking time carefully. If you would rather not rush, take an earlier Candlelight show and enjoy the lagoon at your own pace.
And if you booked anything months ago off last year’s times, pull up your reservations and check them against this schedule.
