The $24.50 New York Sour

That’s a striking number even by Walt Disney World standards, and it’s worth understanding what you’re paying for.

Widow Jane is a small-batch Brooklyn distillery with genuine specialty-bourbon pricing, and a New York Sour is a labour-intensive build — the red wine float has to be poured slowly over the back of a spoon to sit on top of the drink rather than mixing into it.

It’s also the most on-theme drink on the list. Saratoga Springs is themed to upstate New York horse country, and a New York Sour made with a New York bourbon is the resort’s cocktail menu actually doing its job.

Whether it’s worth $24.50 is a separate question. For context, that’s roughly what a signature cocktail costs at a Disney Signature Dining restaurant, and this is a resort lounge.

The sangria at $14.00 is the value play if you’re not chasing the specialty pour.

The Menu Being Unchanged Is Interesting

Refurbishments usually bring menu changes, and this one apparently hasn’t.

That cuts two ways.

Reassuring for regulars: the Turf Club Burger, the Onion Ring Tower, and the Giant Pretzel are exactly what people book this lounge for. Nothing beloved has quietly disappeared during the closure.

But it also suggests the refurbishment is physical rather than culinary — an update to the space itself rather than a reimagining of the offering. That fits a phased reopening where the Lounge comes back first and the Bar & Grill follows in late September.

Worth watching whether the Bar & Grill menu changes when it returns. If the full restaurant reopens with a reworked menu while the Lounge keeps its old one, that tells you where the actual investment went.

That matters for Saratoga Springs guests specifically. The resort is enormous — one of the largest DVC properties at Walt Disney World, spread across multiple villa sections — and its table-service options are limited. With the Bar & Grill down, the Lounge plus quick service at The Artist’s Palette is most of what’s on site.

Plan accordingly if you’re staying there in September. Disney Springs is a short boat ride away and has considerably more options, which is the practical workaround.

About the Turf Club

The Turf Club sits at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, themed to the historic upstate New York town famous for its horse racing and mineral springs.

The lounge leans into that heritage — equestrian décor, a clubhouse feel, and a menu built around American bar food rather than anything more elaborate.

It’s also one of the more genuinely relaxed lounges on property. Saratoga Springs draws a quieter crowd than the monorail resorts, and the Turf Club rarely has the wait times you’d find at a comparable space at the Grand Floridian or the Contemporary.

Saratoga Springs is walkable to Disney Springs, which makes the lounge a reasonable pre- or post-dinner stop even if you’re not staying there.
