NEW: Universal Monsters Laguna Lounge

Loews Royal Pacific Resort — Jake’s American Bar transforms into Universal Monsters Laguna Lounge, a classic monster hideaway inspired by mid-century modern tiki.

Guests can catch characters like Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, and more lurking throughout the décor, along with larger-than-life photo ops.

Featured items include a Pumpkin Spiced Mule and Buffalo Chicken Dip.

This Is the Standout Concept

Mid-century modern tiki crossed with Universal Monsters is a genuinely clever pairing, and it works for a specific reason.

The Universal Monsters are 1930s properties that had their pop-culture revival in the 1950s and 60s — the era of monster magazines, Aurora model kits, and Saturday afternoon Shock Theater broadcasts. That’s precisely the same cultural moment as tiki.

Frankenstein’s Monster in a tiki lounge isn’t a random mashup. It’s two aesthetics from the same period, and Royal Pacific’s existing South Pacific theming means Universal barely has to change the room to make it work.

It’s also the right room. Jake’s American Bar is already a themed bar with atmosphere. Overlaying it is far more effective than dressing up a generic hotel lobby.

The Source cocktail at Luna Bar

NEW: Nova Bar at Universal Stella Nova Resort

A sleek research exhibit has gone wrong, and a mysterious substance has breached containment, creeping and pulsing with a life of its own.

As guests explore the bar, they’ll notice hazmat teams have sealed off the area and are working urgently to stabilize the situation before the substance infects everyone and everything.

NEW: Luna Bar at Universal Terra Luna Resort

By day, Luna Bar is a sleek interstellar outpost. By night it becomes contested ground as two rival alien species who once declared Terra Luna neutral territory are in battle.

Guests will be surrounded by the turf battle, with each alien species on opposite sides of the bar.

Featured drink: “The Source” cocktail.

Splitting the room between two warring factions is a nice piece of spatial storytelling. Where you sit puts you on a side.

Returning Overlays

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel — Returning for a second year at The Thirsty Fish, guests climb aboard an old fishing ship frozen in time by a freak ice storm. Fishing nets and ropes crusted in ice, the ship’s broken mast dangling over the bar, all surrounded by an eerie blue glow.

Hard Rock Hotel — Night of the Living Shred returns for another rancid residency in the lobby and Veranda Bar. The whole undead roadie crew is back with more lights, more sights, and more frights — more zombies, more band members, and a rock-fueled apocalypse. The Veranda Bar is a new addition this year.

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort — In the lower lobby, an eerie seaside Gothic Manor with creepy floral sculptures, candelabras, and dark-academia items throughout the seating areas. New this year: a satellite bar serving the Witch Doctor Old Fashioned, the Pumpkin Plunder, and the Haunted Jungle Bird, all also available at Strong Water Tavern.

Universal Aventura Hotel — Alien overlords have taken over the lobby bar, barVentura, serving mind-controlling cocktails as they attempt to abduct unsuspecting guests to their looming mothership.

Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort — The fan-favorite Pumpkin Lord Bar returns to Swizzle Lounge, with the theme expanding to the lobby where more sinister roots wait to be unearthed.

Universal Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn & Suites — From the briny deep, spirits have washed ashore at the Sunset Lounge, taking the form of eerie driftwood sculptures throughout the space.

Nine Hotels, Nine Different Concepts

Worth appreciating the scope. Universal is running nine distinct themed overlays across its hotel portfolio — monsters, containment breach, alien turf war, frozen shipwreck, zombie rock, Gothic manor, alien abduction, pumpkin lord, and washed-up spirits.

None of them repeat. That’s a substantial creative investment in spaces most guests only pass through on the way to bed.

It also makes hotel-hopping viable as an activity. Universal Orlando’s hotels are connected by water taxi, walking paths, and shuttles. A night spent visiting four or five lounges without ever entering the theme park is a genuinely good evening, and it costs nothing but drinks.

The water taxi loop — Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, Royal Pacific, and Sapphire Falls — covers four overlays with minimal walking.

Hotel Guest Benefits at HHN

Staying at a Universal Orlando hotel is the best way to experience Halloween Horror Nights, with hotel guests enjoying:

  • Early Park Admission to the theme parks during the day
  • Special access to a priority event entrance to HHN from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Complimentary transportation to the theme parks and CityWalk before and after
  • New this year: The Keyholder Bar

The Keyholder Bar

New for 2026, hotel guests — along with Passholders and Universal Rewards Cardmembers — attending Halloween Horror Nights get exclusive access to their own bar.

The Keyholder Bar is located to the left of the Music Plaza Stage, offering convenient, quicker access to cocktails and mocktails.

A dedicated bar with shorter lines at a sold-out event is a meaningful perk. HHN bar queues get long, and thirty minutes saved is a house you get to walk.

Booking Savings

Guests can save up to 30% when booking a stay of five nights or more at participating hotels.

Universal Orlando Passholders can also save up to 30% at participating hotels.

HHN 2026 Dates

Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights runs select nights from Friday, August 28 through Sunday, November 1 — one of the most expansive events in its 35-year history.

Universal Studios Florida transforms into the Infernal Carnival of Nightmares, a decrepit, fuel-filled carnival run by icons Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow, featuring 10 all-new haunted houses, immersive scare zones and street experiences, live entertainment, themed food and beverages, and other surprises.

The Bottom Line

The HHN hotel experiences at Universal Orlando bring nine themed lounges across the resort portfolio, headlined by the new Universal Monsters Laguna Lounge at Royal Pacific — a mid-century tiki monster hideaway — plus new overlays at Stella Nova’s Nova Bar and Terra Luna’s Luna Bar.

Hotel guests get priority HHN entry from 6:30 to 7:30pm and access to the new Keyholder Bar near Music Plaza Stage.
