Disney has released the first official map of The Magic of Disney Animation building at Hollywood Studios, and with it, new concept art and details for the Drawn to Wonderland playground. The building does not yet have a confirmed opening date — it opens later this summer — but now you can see exactly how it is laid out and what is waiting inside.
Quick Summary
- Disney has released the official map of The Magic of Disney Animation building at Hollywood Studios — opening later this summer
- The building has five distinct zones: Olaf Draws!, Off the Page! character meets, Once Upon A Studio Theater, Drawn to Wonderland playground, and Galleries
- A Studio Store exit is also on the map
- Drawn to Wonderland is an indoor Mary Blair-inspired Alice in Wonderland playground for ages 6 months to 5 years
- Off the Page! character lineup: Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Stitch
- Characters from the building are currently meeting guests as free-roaming characters in the Walt Disney Studios courtyard
The Five Zones Inside
Guests enter through a central Open House area and can move through five distinct zones:
- Olaf Draws! — The Animation Academy drawing class hosted by an Audio-Animatronics Olaf, with instruction from real Disney Animation artists
- Off the Page! — Character meet-and-greet spaces themed around the animation process, with Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Stitch
- Once Upon A Studio Theater — A dedicated theater showing the Emmy Award-winning short film with enhanced effects
- Drawn to Wonderland — An indoor playground for younger guests inspired by Alice in Wonderland
- Galleries — Curated art spaces featuring Disney Animation artwork
A Studio Store exit is also shown on the map, giving guests a dedicated retail exit path through the building.
Drawn to Wonderland — New Details and Concept Art
Disney has now released concept art and expanded details for Drawn to Wonderland, the indoor playground designed for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. The space is inspired by the original Alice in Wonderland concept art from Disney Legend Mary Blair — her bold colors and unmistakable graphic style brought to life as an immersive, climbable environment.
The playground is divided into themed areas from the 1951 film:
- The Mad Tea Party and Mad Hatter’s house
- The Queen of Hearts’ rose garden
- The Cheshire Cat’s Tulgey Wood
The concept art shows climbing structures, interactive elements at the Mad Tea Party table, oversized props, whimsical trees, and the Cheshire Cat peering from the branches overhead. It is designed for younger guests to explore and move while families can recharge without leaving the Disney storytelling environment.
Characters Are Already Meeting in the Courtyard
While The Magic of Disney Animation building waits for its opening date, several characters from the Off the Page! lineup are already available at Hollywood Studios. Mulan, Rapunzel, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Chip, and Dale are currently meeting guests as free-roaming characters in the Walt Disney Studios courtyard — no queues, no dedicated meet-and-greet lines.
This format will likely shift when the building opens and the characters move to their dedicated Off the Page! spaces inside. Take advantage of the free-roaming experience now while it lasts.
No confirmed opening date for The Magic of Disney Animation has been announced. It opens later this summer at Hollywood Studios. Stay tuned to DisMornings for the announcement when Disney sets the date.
