Universal Kids Resort just published its full price list, and buried in it is a ticket that may be the best value the park has offered.
The new Universal Kids Resort Explorer Ticket runs $69.99 per person plus tax, and it is on sale only from October 15, 2026 through January 6, 2027. It sits between the 1-Day and 2-Day general admission tickets on price, but the validity terms are completely different from either, and that is where it gets interesting.
Universal released the Explorer Ticket alongside a complete overview of every ticket and pass the park sells. That overview also gave us something the September announcement did not: actual prices for the Silver Annual Pass tiers. Those numbers change the upgrade math we wrote about last month.
Here is the full price list, what the Explorer Ticket does and does not include, the one piece of wording I would get clarified before buying, and how all six options compare.

How the Explorer Ticket Compares on Price
At $69.99, the Explorer Ticket costs $20 more than a 1-Day ticket and $4 less than a 2-Day ticket. If it only admits one visit, the 1-Day ticket wins outright and there is no reason to consider it.
If it admits multiple weekday visits, it beats everything below the annual passes, and it beats the Silver Annual Pass for anyone whose visits fall on weekdays anyway. Silver carries block out days regardless, so the practical difference narrows to how many months of access you want and whether you need weekends.
The weekday restriction is the real filter. Sunday through Thursday excludes Friday and Saturday, which is when most families with school-age kids can actually go. If your visits happen on weekends, this ticket is not for you at any price.
The New Prices Change the Gold Upgrade Math
When we covered the Universal Kids Resort Gold Annual Pass last month, Universal had announced the Gold tier at $199.99 but had not published prices for the Silver tiers. That made the upgrade path impossible to price. Now we can.
- Silver ($129.99) to Gold ($199.99): a $70 gap
- Silver with Parking ($164.99) to Gold ($199.99): a $35 gap
That second number is the one worth staring at. For $35 more than Silver with Parking, Gold removes every block out day and adds the discount package. If you already hold Silver with Parking and you have hit a block out date even once, $35 is a straightforward call.
The $49.99 one-day price also finally lets us run the Gold break-even properly: $199.99 divided by $49.99 is about four visits on admission alone, and fewer once you count the parking Gold includes and Silver does not.
One Note on the Gold Benefit List
Worth flagging for anyone cross-referencing announcements.
This new table describes Gold’s perks in general terms: select merchandise discounts, select food and beverage discounts, and discounts on theme park tickets and select products. September’s announcement was more specific, listing 10 percent off several categories plus complimentary hotel room upgrades based on availability and $20 off premium parking.
The hotel upgrade and the premium parking discount do not appear in this summary table. That is most likely because a price-comparison table compresses benefit lists, not because anything was withdrawn. Still, if either of those perks is part of why you want Gold, confirm it is still offered before you buy rather than taking a September announcement as current.
Who Each Option Is Actually For
Quick sort, assuming the Explorer Ticket turns out to be multi-visit.
Visiting once: 1-Day general admission at $49.99. Nothing else beats it for a single trip.
Visiting twice: 2-Day at $73.99 works, or the Explorer Ticket at $69.99 if your dates are Sunday through Thursday.
Local, weekday-flexible, this winter only: the Explorer Ticket is built for you, and it is the cheapest route to repeat visits.
Local, visiting year-round, weekends matter: Gold at $199.99. The block out days on both Silver tiers are the whole reason.
Local, visiting year-round, weekends do not matter: Silver at $129.99, or Silver with Parking at $164.99 if you drive. But price the $35 step to Gold first.
The Bottom Line
The Universal Kids Resort Explorer Ticket is $69.99 per person plus tax, on sale October 15, 2026 through January 6, 2027, valid Sunday through Thursday only through March 11, 2027, with possible block out days and no parking included.
The full price list that came with it is arguably the bigger news. Silver at $129.99 and Silver with Parking at $164.99 finally make the Gold Annual Pass upgrade pricable, and a $35 step from Silver with Parking to a pass with no block out days is the clearest value on the sheet.
