Super Mario Galaxy Movie Celebration Is Now at Universal Parks — Yoshi Meet & Greet, New Treats & More

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is almost here, and Universal Parks aren’t letting it pass without a party. A limited-time Super Mario Galaxy Movie Celebration has officially launched at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Epic Universe, bringing a Yoshi meet & greet, themed food, new merchandise, and photo ops to Super Nintendo World and CityWalk.

The promotion kicked off on MAR10 Day (March 10) and runs daily through April 13, 2026 — so you have about a month to catch it before and after the film’s April 1 premiere. Here’s everything available during the celebration.

Meet Yoshi at Super Nintendo World

This is the headliner. Yoshi is doing a limited-time meet & greet inside Super Nintendo World, and it’s exactly as fun as it sounds. Guests can meet the beloved dinosaur and take photos — but you need to plan around it.

During the event’s opening, Yoshi appeared once every hour on the half-hour. Capacity is extremely limited, so if this is on your list, get to Super Nintendo World early and ask a team member when the next appearance is happening. Don’t assume you can just walk up whenever.

The Rosalina Cupcake at Toadstool Cafe

The standout food item of the celebration is the Rosalina Cupcake, available at Toadstool Cafe. Here’s what you’re getting: a blue velvet cupcake filled with blueberry cheesecake, topped with lemon buttercream, finished with a chocolate crown and star inspired by Rosalina’s celestial aesthetic.

The flavor profile is genuinely well-balanced — the lemon cuts through the sweetness and complements the fruity blueberry and creamy cheesecake flavors. A worthy limited-time treat.

Galaxy Popcorn — The Snack of the Celebration

Galaxy Popcorn is multicolored, berry-flavored, dusted with edible glitter, and tastes like if Froot Loops and Corn Pops had a baby. It’s fun, it’s colorful, and it photographs beautifully.

Interactive Luma Shoulder Pals

These are something new. Interactive Luma shoulder pals ($40 each) are inspired by the star-shaped companions from the film, available in blue and yellow. Each one features light and sound effects — but the real trick is that when two Lumas are brought close together, they communicate with each other.

These are a first-of-their-kind item for Universal parks and a genuinely fun collectible for Super Mario fans. If you’re visiting with a friend or family member, grab two different colors and watch them interact.

CityWalk Star Portal Photo Op

Both CityWalk Hollywood and CityWalk Orlando have a new galaxy-themed star portal photo opportunity inspired by the movie. It’s a free, easy way to get a great souvenir photo from the celebration — and you don’t even need park admission to access it.
