Where the Hotel Is Located

The hotel sits on the shore of Wishing Star Lake, next to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. It overlooks both Shanghai Disneyland and Wishing Star Park.

A dedicated connector links the two hotels, and guests at either one can use shared facilities, including:

  • Fitness centers
  • Swimming pools
  • Indoor and outdoor themed play areas
  • Shops and restaurants

Three new crane sculptures near the hotel highlight the resort’s conservation stories.

Hotel Theme and Design

The hotel is named for the Wishing Star, and that theme carries through the exterior, interiors, and guest experience.

The nine-story building uses an Art Nouveau style inspired by early 20th-century Shanghai architecture. Disney describes the approach as “Authentically Disney, Distinctly Chinese,” mixing Disney stories with local influences in the design, dining, merchandise, and entertainment.

That phrase has guided Shanghai Disney Resort since it opened, and it’s one of the things that makes the resort feel different from the U.S. parks. The Art Nouveau look also sets this hotel apart from Shanghai Disneyland Hotel next door.

  • Enchanted Star Dream Room
  • Enchanted Star Club Room

More room types will open for booking closer to the December 16 opening.

Pools, Dining, and Entertainment

The hotel has indoor swimming facilities and several themed play areas based on Disney characters and stories.

There’s also an outdoor pool, open during select seasons depending on weather. It’s the first outdoor pool at any Shanghai Disney Resort hotel, which is a nice upgrade for summer visitors.

Enchanted Seasons Restaurant is one of several dining locations. Its menu changes with the seasons and serves Chinese and international food. You can also expect character encounters, special entertainment, and hotel-exclusive merchandise.

How to Book

You can book Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel through:

  • The Shanghai Disney Resort Reservation Center
  • The resort’s own booking channels
  • Authorized travel partners

Reservations open at 12:00 am Shanghai time on November 6. For U.S. travelers, that’s 11:00 am Eastern Time on Thursday, November 5, or 8:00 am Pacific. Shanghai doesn’t observe daylight saving time, so double-check the time difference before you try to book.

Tips for U.S. Travelers

If you’re thinking about adding Shanghai to your Disney bucket list, a few things to keep in mind:

  • Check entry requirements early. Visa and passport rules can change, so confirm what you need well before booking.
  • Book a Park View room if it matters to you. Views of the park tend to be in high demand at Disney hotels, so if a Park View room is a priority, try to book as soon as reservations open.
  • Plan around the opening. New hotels can have soft openings and early hiccups, so if you’re flexible, a stay a few months after December 16 may be smoother.
  • Use the connector. Staying at Enchanted Star gets you access to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel’s shared amenities too.

Why This Hotel Matters

Shanghai Disney Resort has fewer on-site rooms than the big U.S. resorts, so a new 400-room hotel is a meaningful addition. More rooms near the park means more guests can enjoy perks like a short walk to the gates, character experiences, and shared resort amenities. For international fans planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip, having a third Disney-themed hotel to choose from gives you more options on price, view, and style.

Shanghai Disney Resort’s Third Hotel

Enchanted Star joins Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel at the resort. Its lakeside location and park views put it closer in feel to the flagship Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, with a design all its own.

The Bottom Line

Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel opens December 16, 2026, with reservations starting November 6 at 12:00 am Shanghai time. The 400-room, Art Nouveau-inspired hotel sits on Wishing Star Lake next to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, with four room types at launch, the resort’s first outdoor pool, and seasonal dining at Enchanted Seasons Restaurant. If Shanghai is on your list, check the time difference and be ready when bookings open.

I’m no stranger to Disney planning, as a Disneyland magic key holder and DVC member. I’m the person people ask for trip planning advice. But I had never been on a Disney cruise, and had heard great about Nate and decided to reach out. I’m so glad I did because we could not have been happier with our experience. His tips and insights were incredibly helpful, and he was incredibly responsive any time we had a question. Who do the Disney experts turn to when they need help? Nate, that’s who. We’ll definitely be using him again.

Our experience working with Nate as our Disney vacation planner was exceptional. He was responsive and thorough. He gave us insights that made the trip go much more smoothly. We were able to really relax and focus on quality time as a family and have so much fun doing it! I will definitely reach out for any future trips.

Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip. Nate was VERY responsive to emails and texts and more than willing to do whatever he could to guide us and answer our questions. On several occasions I emailed him over the weekend not expecting a response until Monday but each time he responded before the weekend was over. He even participated in a Zoom session with our group of five seniors as we planned our trip. He also helped us at the 11th hour when we added a family member to our travel group less than a month before our trip. Without a doubt, I will reach out to Nate when I'm ready to plan my next trip to Disney World!

We are so thankful we used Nate to plan not only our first Disney trip, but also our second. He made the process so easy for us, especially for us since it was our first time going. There was a lot to consider and many decisions to make, such as where to stay, when to go, and what to experience. Nate really helped us narrow down what we wanted to do overall, but he didn’t stop there. He provided detailed guides to help us navigate the airport and find our transportation to the resort, as well as a guide to explore the resorts and make sure we saw the best Christmas decorations. One of the many amazing things he also did was set up our dinner reservations for us. This saved us so much stress and allowed us to get some of our top choices. From the moment we landed in Orlando to the moment we headed back home, he made sure everything went smoothly. You truly can’t go wrong with going to him for your next trip.

Nate was absolutely the best planner I have ever had. Will most definitely be using him again. He took care of everything and kept me on track. Was so very helpful in making all the dining reservations and everything. Can't thank him enough. He made our trip completely stress free!

Nathan has been an amazing trip planner for me! So helpful and responsive. I am a very type A person -- so someone who is even more on top of their game than me -- is so so appreciated! Nathan has booked 3 trips for me (1 completed 2 pending) and it was perfection. Thanks again!

Nate has helped us with our vacation planning for the last couple of years and we couldn't be happier with his service and expertise. We've used other travel agents in the past and none of them have done as phenomenal a job to make sure every detail is taken care of as he has. Switching to Nate was one of the best decisions we've ever made. He's always quick to answer questions and works tirelessly to make sure we get everything we want from our trips. Plus, he's just a genuinely great person who is wonderful to work with. Whether you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, a Disney Cruise, or any other vacation, Nate is the guy you want putting it all together! Five stars across the board!
