A new construction permit has been filed at the Indiana Jones Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it may be connected to the mysterious Project Fedora taking shape next door. Here’s what the permit reveals and what sources are saying about what’s being built.
Quick Summary
- A new permit was filed for signage installation at the Indiana Jones Theater at Hollywood Studios
- The permit is assigned to Kentavo, a vendor with a strong history working with Walt Disney Imagineering
- Project Fedora is a separate construction project at 253 Cypress Dr, right next to the Indiana Jones Theater
- Sources suggest Project Fedora may be an Indiana Jones-themed play structure for younger guests
- The construction footprint is approximately 202 square feet
- Disney has made no official announcement on either the signage or Project Fedora
What the New Indiana Jones Theater Permit Shows
Walt Disney Imagineering filed a new building permit for the Indiana Jones Theater describing the scope as “Install Signage.” The permit is assigned to Kentavo, a vendor with a well-established track record working alongside WDI on themed signage and wayfinding projects at Walt Disney World. That’s a detail worth noting — Kentavo does Disney-caliber theming work, not standard facility signage.
No further details are included in the permit, and Disney has not made any announcement about what’s being added or changed at the Indiana Jones Theater.
The Project Fedora Connection
Right next to the Indiana Jones Theater, a separate construction project — dubbed Project Fedora by fans — has been underway at 253 Cypress Dr. The two existing Notices of Commencement for Project Fedora are owned by Facilities Asset Management, which is a different filing path than the new WDI-associated signage permit.
That distinction matters. The fact that a WDI vendor is filing for Indiana Jones Theater signage at the same time construction is happening next door raises the question of whether these two projects are connected. WDI doesn’t typically get involved in routine maintenance signage — their work is creative and themed.
What Sources Are Saying About Project Fedora
Sources says that Project Fedora may be a play structure of some kind, aimed at younger guests. An Indiana Jones-themed play area near the stunt show exit would make geographic sense — it’s near the attraction’s exit path and fits the existing Indiana Jones theming in that area. The construction footprint is small at approximately 202 square feet, which aligns with a contained play structure rather than a larger attraction build.
None of this has been confirmed by Disney. The play structure detail comes from sources and has not been officially announced.
What to Expect Next
Disney has not announced anything related to Project Fedora or the new Indiana Jones Theater signage permit. As more building filings come in, the picture should get clearer. An Indiana Jones-themed play structure near the stunt show would be a welcome addition for families with young kids who can’t ride everything — and the connection to a WDI signage vendor makes the idea more credible, not less.
We’ll keep watching the permit filings. If Project Fedora shapes up to be an Indiana Jones-themed kids’ play area near the stunt show exit, it would be a smart use of what’s currently unused space in that corner of Hollywood Studios. Stay tuned.
