Pete’s Silly Sideshow closed in February 2026 for a focused refurbishment. The work centered on replacing the tent canopy covering the Big Top structure, which had faded and worn from weather exposure over the years. Aerial photos shared by @bioreconstruct on X show the completed canopy in place ahead of the June 27 reopening — and the new covering looks sharp.

While the venue was closed, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy moved to temporary outdoor meeting locations around Storybook Circus. Outdoor character meets work, but they’re a significantly different experience — especially in the Florida summer heat. Getting everyone back inside the Big Top is a genuine improvement for guests visiting this summer.

Big Top Souvenirs Still Closed

Pete’s Silly Sideshow’s neighbor, Big Top Souvenirs, closed around the same time for its own separate refurbishment. As of now, Disney has not announced a reopening date for the shop. If you were planning to shop at Big Top Souvenirs on your next visit, hold off on expectations — no timeline has been given yet.

Tips for Visiting Pete’s Silly Sideshow After Reopening

• Go early or use the evening hours. Character meet wait times are typically shorter at park opening and in the late afternoon as crowds thin out.
• Check both queues. The two separate queues (Dashing and Daring Pals) sometimes have different wait times. Check both before committing to a line.
• Storybook Circus is also home to The Barnstormer and Dumbo. Pete’s Silly Sideshow is a natural stop if you’re already in the area for those two rides, making it easy to combine into a single Fantasyland loop.
• Bring something for autographs. All four characters sign autographs during these meets. If you have an autograph book, this is one of the most efficient spots in Magic Kingdom to collect four signatures in one stop.
