Universal Express Now is Universal Orlando’s answer to Disney’s Lightning Lane system. You get a return window — similar to a reservation — and when your window opens, you head to the Express queue instead of the standby line.

If you want all-day multi-ride Express access, the traditional Express Pass is still available. Express Now is specifically for guests who want flexibility without the full upfront cost.

How Does Universal Express Now Work?

Here’s the step-by-step breakdown:

• Open the Universal Orlando Resort App while you’re inside the park (location services must be enabled)
• Look for Express Now availability on a supported attraction
• Purchase access and receive a specific return window to use the Express queue
• Return during your window and enter the Express queue

A few important rules to know: you can only buy Express Now while you’re physically inside the park where the attraction is located. Passes are released sporadically based on availability throughout the day — they’re not pre-bookable in advance. And you must use it during your designated time window; you can’t swap it to a different attraction.

How Much Does Universal Express Now Cost?

Pricing varies by attraction. Early sightings from guests show Yoshi’s Adventure at $19.99 and Hiccup’s Wing Gliders at $24.99. Universal hasn’t confirmed whether pricing will be dynamic (fluctuating based on demand and wait times) or fixed — so those prices could shift as the product matures.

For context, a traditional Universal Express Pass typically runs anywhere from $79 to well over $100 per person depending on the date. If you only want to skip the line on one or two rides in a day, Express Now could be a more cost-effective option — though the math shifts quickly if you’re planning to use it multiple times.

Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip.
