Vahle posted his congratulations on Instagram following the announcement that Mazloum will succeed Josh D’Amaro as Chairman of Disney Experiences, effective March 18, 2026.

“I’ve always admired Thomas Mazloum’s ability to combine operational excellence with a genuine passion for our Cast Members,” Vahle wrote. “We’ve worked closely together over the years – across cruise ships, resorts and as colleagues leading the U.S. Disney Parks – and I have tremendous respect for his leadership and character.”

“I’m excited to step into the next era of Disney Experiences alongside him. Congratulations on being named Chairman, Thomas!” he added.

Vahle doesn’t just say congratulations — he names exactly what he respects about Mazloum: the combination of operational rigor and real care for cast members. A Shared History That Spans Disney’s Biggest Operations

The Vahle-Mazloum working relationship isn’t new. Both executives built their Disney careers through similar tracks that crossed multiple times over the years.

Mazloum joined Disney in 1998 as a hotel director for Disney Cruise Line and later served as President of Disney Signature Experiences, which includes the cruise business. Vahle held leadership roles in Disney Cruise Line as well, and he also previously led Disney Signature Experiences — the exact same role Mazloum held before moving to Disneyland Resort President.

Most recently, the two have been colleagues leading U.S. Disney Parks side by side, with Vahle running Walt Disney World in Florida and Mazloum leading Disneyland Resort in California. They know each other’s work intimately. When Vahle says he has “tremendous respect” for Mazloum’s leadership and character, that comes from years of firsthand experience working together.

What This Means at Walt Disney World

As of March 18, 2026, Vahle will report to Mazloum in the new structure. That’s a significant change at the top of the world’s most visited theme park destination.

Walt Disney World under Vahle oversees approximately 80,000 cast members, four theme parks, more than 25 resort hotels, two water parks, a sports complex, and Disney Springs. Since taking the WDW President role in 2019, Vahle has opened some of the most celebrated new experiences in the resort’s history: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and the reimagined Test Track.

Right now, Vahle is managing billions of dollars in investments for new lands and attractions at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In addition to day-to-day resort operations, he also oversees Worldwide Safety, Health, Engineering and Sourcing for all of Disney Experiences — a scope that gives him influence across the entire division.

With Mazloum as his direct supervisor, the Walt Disney World growth trajectory continues under a leadership duo with genuine mutual respect and a long shared history. That’s a rare thing in any major corporation, and it’s especially meaningful in an industry where long-term capital commitments require unwavering alignment at the top.
