Hungry Bear Restaurant Renamed and New Food: What We Know So Far

Hey Disneyland Vacationers! Disneyland has recently announced an exciting transformation for one of its beloved quick-serve restaurants. The Hungry Bear Restaurant, a favorite spot for many guests, is getting a new name and a new theme. Soon, it will be known as the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree! The New Name: Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree

The announcement has created quite a buzz among Disney fan. The Hungry Bear Restaurant, known for its picturesque setting and casual dining atmosphere, will be transformed into the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. This new theme draws inspiration from the beloved Country Bears, promising a delightful and immersive dining experience.

“The Country Bears are taking over Hungry Bear Restaurant at Disneyland with a new name: Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree!

Get ready to sample regional barbecue dishes the Country Bears discovered while on tour, all while foot-stompin’ and finger-snappin’ to the Country Bears’ greatest hits! More details about this transformation – including an opening date – coming soon.”

What to Expect

While the exact reopening date has not yet been announced, Disneyland assures fans that the transformation will be worth the wait. The revamped restaurant will feature a menu inspired by regional barbecue dishes that the Country Bears discovered during their adventures. Guests can look forward to a lively atmosphere filled with music and entertainment, paying homage to the Country Bears’ greatest hits.

The change of menu towards barbecue makes me think that this quick-serve’s menu could draw inspiration from the Regal Eagle in EPCOT. The Regal Eagle in the America pavilion of the park, features barbecue dishes from different regions of the US, including brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. As well as a sauce bar that offers tastes for each area.

A Nod to Disney History

Disneyland’s decision to incorporate the Country Bears into the Hungry Bear Restaurant is a nostalgic nod to Disney history. Fans of the Country Bears will remember the original Country Bear show at Disneyland, which ran until it was closed on September 9, 2001, and replaced by a Winnie the Pooh attraction. This beloved show had a significant fan following, and its spirit continues to live on through these new changes.

Changes at Walt Disney World

Interestingly, this transformation comes on the heels of updates at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, where the Country Bear Jamboree was recently updated to the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. The updated show features an all-new setlist with Disney songs, bringing a fresh twist to the classic attraction. However, no additional changes have been announced for Walt Disney World at this time.

Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip. Nate was VERY responsive to emails and texts and more than willing to do whatever he could to guide us and answer our questions.  On several occasions I emailed him over the weekend not expecting a response until Monday but each time he responded before the weekend was over.
