Halloween Horror Nights 2027 Codenames: All 10 Revealed

Reading Time: 4 minutes
Halloween Horror Nights 35 at Universal Orlando

Ten permits just dropped at Universal Studios Florida, and every one of them is named after breakfast.

The Halloween Horror Nights 2027 codenames have surfaced through permit filings, which is exactly how we learn these every year. Ten applications cover the ten locations that hosted houses at Halloween Horror Nights 35, and each permit pairs a building with a breakfast item. Pancake. Syrup. Waffle. Grits.

Universal filed them during the final days of this year’s event, which tells you planning for 2027 started before 2026 finished.

Here is every codename, the location attached to it, and the house that used that space this year. One warning before you scroll: the house names below are what ran there in 2026, not predictions for 2027. People get that wrong every single year.

Quick Summary

  • Ten permit applications at Universal Studios Florida carry breakfast-themed codenames.
  • They cover the same ten locations that hosted Halloween Horror Nights 35 houses.
  • The permits were filed during the closing days of this year’s event.
  • Codenames include Pancake, Syrup, Waffle, Oatmeal, Mimosa, Hash, Porridge, Yogurt, Toast, and Grits.
  • Last year’s codenames used a transportation theme, including Shuttle, Wagon, and Helicopter.
  • The permits list locations and codenames only, with no house themes attached.
  • House names in the list below are the 2026 occupants of each space, not 2027 lineups.
  • Official announcements will not arrive until next year.

All 10 Halloween Horror Nights 2027 Codenames

Each line is the permit location, then the 2027 breakfast codename, then the house that occupied that space during Halloween Horror Nights 35.

  • Soundstage 22 — Pancake. Hosted Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control in 2026.
  • Soundstage 23A — Syrup. Hosted Evil Dead Burn in 2026.
  • Soundstage 23B — Waffle. Hosted Stranger Things 5 in 2026.
  • Soundstage 24A — Oatmeal. Hosted Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness in 2026.
  • Soundstage 24B — Mimosa. Hosted MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals in 2026.
  • Fast and Furious — Hash. Hosted Cybergoria in 2026.
  • Tent 1 — Porridge. Hosted INVASION: Alien Abduction in 2026.
  • Tent 2 — Yogurt. Hosted H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular! in 2026.
  • B138A — Toast. Hosted Hellraiser in 2026.
  • B138B — Grits. Hosted Sinners in 2026.

Ten locations, ten codenames, same count as this year. That consistency is the most concrete thing in the whole filing.

Read This Before You Start Theorizing

Every year this list circulates and every year the same mistake spreads with it.

The house names above describe what ran in each building during Halloween Horror Nights 35. They are included so you can picture the location. They are not a sign that Stranger Things is returning to Soundstage 23B, or that Hellraiser is coming back to B138A.

Universal reuses the same ten spaces year after year. A permit for Soundstage 23B tells you Universal plans to build a house in Soundstage 23B. It tells you nothing about what goes inside it.

Breakfast Replaces Vehicles

Universal picks an overarching theme for its codenames each year, and this is the part fans genuinely enjoy tracking.

Halloween Horror Nights 35 used a transportation theme. Those codenames included Shuttle, Wagon, and Helicopter. For 2027, breakfast takes over: Toast, Waffle, Porridge, Mimosa, and the rest.

The theme is a filing convention, not a creative hint. Universal needs ten distinct labels that are easy to say out loud in a construction meeting and give nothing away in a public document. Breakfast foods do that job. So did vehicles.

Do Codenames Ever Mean Anything?

Occasionally, yes, and that is what keeps the speculation alive.

A codename has sometimes hinted at what ended up inside a house. But look at how last year played out. Shuttle, Wagon, and Helicopter produced Jack & Oddfellow, Evil Dead Burn, and Stranger Things 5. No connection whatsoever.

When Universal applies a single tidy theme across all ten names, that is a naming system doing its job. Treat Pancake as a label on a door, not a clue.

Why the Fast and Furious Building Is the One to Watch

One location on this list is more interesting than the other nine.

The permit for Hash is attached to the Fast and Furious building, the show building that housed Fast & Furious: Supercharged until Universal closed that attraction permanently in August. It hosted Cybergoria during Halloween Horror Nights 35.

That matters because the building has no daytime attraction in it. Universal has given no public answer about its long-term future, and rumors have circulated about everything from a Twisters attraction to the space simply sitting idle.

A 2027 haunted house permit does not settle that question. It does tell you the building stays useful to Universal in the meantime, and that the Halloween event is currently the thing keeping the lights on in there.

What Happens Next

Here is the realistic timeline, because nothing about house themes is close.

Permits come first. Fan speculation comes second. Universal’s official announcements come well after both, usually spread across spring and summer, with the full house lineup landing closer to the event itself.

Expect months of theories built on ten breakfast words. Some of them will be entertaining. Almost none of them will be right, and that is fine, because guessing is half of what the offseason is for.

If you want something firmer to follow, watch for further permit activity on these same buildings. Construction filings carry more signal than the names on them.

The Bottom Line

The Halloween Horror Nights 2027 codenames are Pancake, Syrup, Waffle, Oatmeal, Mimosa, Hash, Porridge, Yogurt, Toast, and Grits, spread across the same ten Universal Studios Florida locations that hosted houses this year. Universal filed the permits in the closing days of Halloween Horror Nights 35.

Breakfast replaces the transportation theme used last year. The permits name locations and codenames only, with no themes attached, and the 2026 house names attached to each building are history rather than forecast.

The Fast and Furious building is the line worth circling, since Halloween is currently the only thing operating in a show building with no daytime attraction.

Enjoy the speculation season. Just do not book an HHN 2027 trip around a hunch about a pancake.

I’m no stranger to Disney planning, as a Disneyland magic key holder and DVC member. I’m the person people ask for trip planning advice. But I had never been on a Disney cruise, and had heard great about Nate and decided to reach out. I’m so glad I did because we could not have been happier with our experience. His tips and insights were incredibly helpful, and he was incredibly responsive any time we had a question. Who do the Disney experts turn to when they need help? Nate, that’s who. We’ll definitely be using him again.

Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip. Nate was VERY responsive to emails and texts and more than willing to do whatever he could to guide us and answer our questions. On several occasions I emailed him over the weekend not expecting a response until Monday but each time he responded before the weekend was over. He even participated in a Zoom session with our group of five seniors as we planned our trip. He also helped us at the 11th hour when we added a family member to our travel group less than a month before our trip. Without a doubt, I will reach out to Nate when I'm ready to plan my next trip to Disney World!

We are so thankful we used Nate to plan not only our first Disney trip, but also our second. He made the process so easy for us, especially for us since it was our first time going. There was a lot to consider and many decisions to make, such as where to stay, when to go, and what to experience. Nate really helped us narrow down what we wanted to do overall, but he didn’t stop there. He provided detailed guides to help us navigate the airport and find our transportation to the resort, as well as a guide to explore the resorts and make sure we saw the best Christmas decorations. One of the many amazing things he also did was set up our dinner reservations for us. This saved us so much stress and allowed us to get some of our top choices. From the moment we landed in Orlando to the moment we headed back home, he made sure everything went smoothly. You truly can’t go wrong with going to him for your next trip.

Nathan has been an amazing trip planner for me! So helpful and responsive. I am a very type A person -- so someone who is even more on top of their game than me -- is so so appreciated! Nathan has booked 3 trips for me (1 completed 2 pending) and it was perfection. Thanks again!

Nate has helped us with our vacation planning for the last couple of years and we couldn't be happier with his service and expertise. We've used other travel agents in the past and none of them have done as phenomenal a job to make sure every detail is taken care of as he has. Switching to Nate was one of the best decisions we've ever made. He's always quick to answer questions and works tirelessly to make sure we get everything we want from our trips. Plus, he's just a genuinely great person who is wonderful to work with. Whether you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, a Disney Cruise, or any other vacation, Nate is the guy you want putting it all together! Five stars across the board!
