Hey Universal Vacationers! Universal Orlando Resort is bringing the world of How to Train Your Dragon to life with the Isle of Berk at Epic Universe, opening on May 22, 2025. Universal has just shared a first look at the food in the Isle of Berk, and it’s packed with Viking-sized feasts and themed treats that will immerse guests in the world of Berk.

Feast Like a Viking at Mead Hall, Spit Fyre Grill, and Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel
The Isle of Berk will feature several dining locations where guests can indulge in Viking-inspired dishes that balance bold flavors with playful theming. Here’s a look at some of the featured menu items:
Mead Hall – The Ultimate Viking Feast
Mead Hall is the main dining spot where guests can sit down and enjoy a true Viking feast. The atmosphere will transport diners into a grand hall filled with rustic wooden tables, hanging banners, and flickering torchlight. Here’s what’s on the menu:
- Thawfest Platter – A massive spread fit for a Viking, featuring chicken drumsticks glazed in wild berry BBQ sauce, grilled salmon, and sausage, served with roasted carrots, cipollini onions, Nordic fries, and side sauces.
- Nordic Harvest Salad (VG) – A hearty salad with kale, arugula, red cabbage, radishes, ancient grains, blueberries, and crisp apples, topped with trail mix for crunch and raspberry vinaigrette for a tangy finish.
- Stormfly’s Catch of the Day – A playful dessert inspired by Astrid’s dragon, featuring a chocolate mousse fish on a bed of colorful crispy rice cereal.
- Yaknog – A rich, creamy beverage with malted chocolate, cinnamon, and whipped cream, inspired by Berk’s Viking culture.
What to Expect at Isle of Berk’s Dining Experience
Universal is known for crafting immersive dining experiences, and the food in Isle of Berk is no exception. Here’s what guests can expect:
