If you’ve ever found yourself a few points short for a DVC reservation and called Member Services to top off with One Time Use points, that option just got a little more expensive. Starting March 23, 2026, DVC one-time use points now cost $22.50 each — a 12.5% jump from the previous all-in price of $20. Here’s what actually changed, how these points work, and whether buying them still makes sense for your trip.
Quick Summary
- DVC one-time use points increased to $22.50 each effective March 23, 2026
- The price increase reflects the addition of 12.5% Central Florida tourism tax on top of a new base price of $20/point
- You can purchase up to 24 one-time use points per year
- Points are only usable within 7 months of your arrival date
- The Membership Magic Beyond 2-for-1 perk still applies — and taxes don’t apply to the free points
What Changed With DVC One-Time Use Point Pricing
The price didn’t just go up — the way it’s structured changed too. Here’s the breakdown:
Before March 23, 2026:
Listed price: $20.00 per point
Actual breakdown: $17.77 per point + 12.5% tax = $20.00 total
After March 23, 2026:
Base price: $20.00 per point
Plus 12.5% Central Florida tourism tax
New total: $22.50 per point
So previously, the $20 price was already tax-inclusive — the tax was baked in. Now, $20 is the pre-tax price, and the tax is added on top. The result is a $2.50 increase per point on every purchase.
What Are DVC One-Time Use Points?
If you’re newer to DVC or haven’t needed these before, here’s a quick rundown.
One-time use points are extra points you can purchase through Member Services when your regular point balance falls short for a reservation. They’re separate from your annual allocation — you’re buying them outright for a single booking.
They’re Available in Limited Quantities
Each year, you can purchase a maximum of 24 one-time use points. That’s it. They’re drawn from DVC’s unsold inventory at resorts currently being marketed, so availability varies.
You Can Only Book Within 7 Months
One-time use points come with a significant restriction: you can only use them to book reservations 7 months or less before your arrival date. You don’t get 11-month booking rights with these. If you’re trying to lock down a stay at a hard-to-get resort during a popular time of year, these points won’t help you get in early.
No Dues, No Annual Fees
There are no annual dues attached to one-time use points. You pay the per-point price, use them for one reservation, and that’s the end of it. They don’t carry over.
You Have to Call to Buy Them
One-time use points aren’t available through the DVCMember.com website. You’ll need to call DVC Member Services directly to purchase them and apply them to your reservation.
The Membership Magic Beyond 2-for-1 Perk Still Works
Here’s the good news for owners enrolled in DVC’s Membership Magic Beyond extended perks program: the 2-for-1 offer on one-time use points is still in place.
Under this perk, you can pay for up to 12 points per year and receive an equal number of points at no additional cost. So you pay for 12, you get 24.
Even better: according to DVC representatives, the tax is not charged on the free points. You only pay tax on the 12 points you’re actually purchasing. At $22.50 per paid point, if you use the full 2-for-1 perk, you’re still getting a solid value per point overall.
Are DVC One-Time Use Points Worth $22.50 Each?
That depends entirely on what you’re trying to book and what the alternative is.
If you’re a few points short for a trip you’ve already planned and the resort you want is available at 7 months, buying one-time use points can absolutely make sense. You’re filling a gap without having to buy more annual points, rent from another owner, or change your plans.
If you’re hoping to use them to book a high-demand resort at peak season, remember the 7-month window works against you — the best rooms at the most popular resorts can be fully booked by then.
At $22.50 per point, you’re paying a premium over what annual points typically work out to on a per-point basis. But for occasional gap-filling, these remain a practical option when the timing works.
The Bottom Line on the DVC One-Time Use Points Price Increase
The DVC one-time use point price increase in 2026 isn’t dramatic, but it is real. $22.50 per point is the new number to keep in mind. If you’re an active user of the Membership Magic Beyond 2-for-1 perk, you can soften the impact significantly — especially since the free points aren’t taxed.
If you think you’ll need extra points for an upcoming trip, know your 7-month booking window, call Member Services when the time is right, and factor the new price into your vacation planning. A couple of extra points can be the difference between the room you want and a compromise — and now you know exactly what that costs.
