Mark October 7. Disney Cruise Line is filling in the biggest remaining blanks on the Disney Believe during a livestream that afternoon, and the one most people are waiting on is the homeport.
The event covers the ship’s homeport, itineraries, new venues, and entertainment. That is the practical information you need to actually plan a sailing, and right now none of it is public.
Here is when to watch, what we already know about the ship, and where construction stands.
Quick Summary
- Disney reveals new Disney Believe details on Wednesday, October 7 at 4:30 pm ET
- The livestream covers homeport, itineraries, new venues, and entertainment
- The ship is expected to debut in 2027
- Disney Believe is the fourth ship in the Wish class
- Its theme centers on promise and possibilities
- The first gigablock floated out at the Meyer Werft shipyard on September 18
When and Where to Watch
The livestream airs Wednesday, October 7 at 4:30 pm ET on the Disney Parks social channels.
A mid-afternoon weekday slot suggests a relatively contained announcement rather than a full production. Expect the details to land quickly rather than being teased across an hour.
The homeport is the headline. Everything else about planning a Disney Believe sailing — flights, pre-cruise hotels, whether this ship is realistically reachable for your family — depends on where it sails from. Itineraries follow directly from that.
What We Already Know
Disney shared some details at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event. Here is what will be on board:
- Moana and her friends greet you in the Grand Hall
- Woody and Buzz decorate the back of the ship
- Tinker Bell appears on the bow
The Disney Believe is the fourth ship in the Wish class, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny.
Its theme centers on promise and possibilities, with stories from Encanto, Frozen, Snow White, Moana, and The Little Mermaid featured on board.
That is a notably princess-forward lineup compared to its siblings. If you are choosing between Wish-class ships for a family sailing, the character focus is a real differentiator.
Construction Is Underway
The ship is being built at the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
The first of three gigablocks — the midship section that includes the Grand Hall — floated out on September 18.
That is a meaningful milestone rather than a photo opportunity. Gigablock float-out means major structural assembly is progressing on schedule, and with two more to go, the ship is tracking toward its 2027 debut.
For anyone who has followed Wish-class construction before, this is the stage where progress becomes visible quickly. The remaining blocks join over the following months, and the ship starts looking like a ship.
What to Watch For on October 7
A few things worth listening for beyond the headline.
The homeport. Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, and a non-Florida option all carry very different implications for travel planning. Disney has been expanding beyond its traditional Florida base.
Whether itineraries are Caribbean or something else. Wish-class ships have largely run shorter Caribbean and Bahamian sailings. A departure from that pattern would be the real news.
New venue names. “New venues” in the announcement language suggests spaces that do not exist on the Wish, Treasure, or Destiny. That is where this ship distinguishes itself.
Booking dates. Disney typically announces when reservations open alongside itinerary reveals. For a 2027 sailing on a new ship, that date matters — first-availability bookings on new Disney ships move fast.
Should You Plan Around This
Honest framing: hold off on committing until October 7.
There is no point building a 2027 cruise plan around a ship whose departure port is unknown. If the Believe homeports somewhere that requires a flight you were not planning, the entire calculation changes.
What you can do now is decide whether a Wish-class ship is right for your family. The Wish, Treasure, and Destiny are all sailing, and reviews of those give you a reliable preview of the Believe’s layout and general experience.
What you should not do is assume this will sail from where the other Wish-class ships do.
How the Wish Class Has Grown
Context helps here, because four ships in one class is a real commitment.
The Disney Wish came first, followed by the Disney Treasure and then the Disney Destiny. Each shares the same underlying design while carrying its own theme and its own set of themed spaces. The Believe makes four.
That matters for two reasons. It means Disney is confident enough in the platform to keep building on it, and it means you already know a great deal about what the Believe will feel like before a single detail is announced. The layout, cabin categories, and general flow carry across the class.
What changes ship to ship is the theming and the venues built into it. That is precisely why the October 7 venue reveal is worth watching rather than skipping.
It also connects to something Disney’s CFO said earlier this month: cruise demand is currently outpacing capacity, with recent ship launches selling out even after Disney added roughly 50 percent more guest rooms across the fleet in the last couple of years. A fourth Wish-class ship is the direct answer to that.
The Bottom Line
The Disney Believe reveal lands Wednesday, October 7 at 4:30 pm ET on the Disney Parks social channels, covering homeport, itineraries, venues, and entertainment.
The ship is the fourth in the Wish class, themed around promise and possibilities, with Encanto, Frozen, Snow White, Moana, and The Little Mermaid featured on board. Construction is moving at Meyer Werft, with the first gigablock floated out September 18 and a 2027 debut expected.
If a 2027 Disney cruise is on your list, watch the livestream live rather than catching the recap. Booking windows for new ships open fast, and the people who plan first get the sailings they want.
