To ensure every detail meets the high standards your clients expect from Disney, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the Disney Adventure’s maiden voyage to March 10, 2026. We regret that this change will affect upcoming sailings. We understand how disappointing this news may be for Guests and sincerely apologize for the impact on their vacation plans.”

While disappointing, this isn’t the first time Disney has had to push back a new ship’s debut. Back in 2021, the Disney Wish also saw its maiden voyage delayed by several weeks for similar reasons.

What Happens if You Were Booked on the Maiden Voyage?

Disney Cruise Line is offering generous compensation for guests impacted by the delay. Here are the key details:

• Guests booked on the original maiden voyage (December 15, 2025):
  • You’ll automatically be moved to the new maiden voyage date of March 10, 2026.
  • You’ll receive a 50% discount on your voyage fare.
  • If you cannot sail on the new date, you can request a full refund and still receive a 50% discount on a future cruise.
• Guests booked on other cancelled Disney Adventure sailings:
  • You’ll get an automatic refund to your original payment method.
  • You’ll also receive a 50% discount on a future cruise.

• The future cruise must be booked by March 31, 2026 and sailed by March 31, 2027.
• The 50% discount only applies to the voyage fare — taxes, fees, and port expenses are excluded.

Disney purchased the partially built vessel (originally known as the Global Dream) back in November 2022 for a reported $41 million. At the time, Disney said the total cost to finish the ship would still come in lower than more recent fleet additions.
