Disney explained that the refreshed paint is still in final design stages, but it’s directly inspired by the castle’s earliest look from the 1970s. The goal is to highlight the architecture, bring back the timeless style, and make sure the castle feels familiar to every generation of guests.

Disney shared that painting Cinderella Castle isn’t a simple job. The team uses high-performance car-grade paint on the roofs so they can withstand intense Florida heat and storms. Other paints go through accelerated UV and weather testing to simulate years of sun exposure. This ensures the colors don’t fade quickly.

Even sheen levels are carefully planned. Stonework gets a matte finish to look natural, while spires and gold trim shine with a glossy coat so they sparkle in the light. Gold is placed strategically to catch the last rays of the Florida sun each evening.

It’s these details that make the castle “photograph ready” from every angle, no matter the time of year.
