New DVC Moonlight Magic Dates Added for 2026

If you’re a Disney Vacation Club member and thought you’d missed your shot this year, you didn’t. DVC has added three new Moonlight Magic 2026 dates, with one at EPCOT and two at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and general registration opens October 1.

Here’s the part worth repeating: if you already attended a Moonlight Magic event in 2026, you can still register for these dates. That’s not always the case, and it makes these three nights unusually accessible.

Below are the new dates, how registration works, which resort reservations qualify, and the fine print that decides whether you’re actually eligible.

Quick Summary

  • EPCOT: October 15, 2026
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: November 30 and December 22, 2026
  • Cost: Free for eligible Members
  • Early Registration: Opened September 24, 2026 for Members with qualifying Resort reservations
  • General Registration: Opens October 1, 2026 for all eligible Members
  • Already attended in 2026? You can still register for these dates
  • Required: A valid digital Membership Card and matching photo ID

What Moonlight Magic Is

Moonlight Magic events are free for eligible Members. They give you after-hours park access, shorter wait times on select attractions, unique Character greetings, entertainment, and food. In my experience, it’s very much like a Disney After Hours event, but for free. The biggest difference are the snack tickets (usually three) you get to try select items at the park. At this year’s Hollywood Studios event, the Jack Jack Num Num Cookie was a by far the most popular.

If you’ve never done one, the appeal is straightforward. You get a park with a fraction of the normal crowd, attractions you’d normally wait an hour for, and food included rather than purchased. For a benefit that costs nothing, it’s one of the strongest things DVC membership offers.

The New Dates

  • EPCOT: October 15, 2026
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: November 30, 2026
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: December 22, 2026

Of the three, December 22 is the one I’d flag. That’s peak holiday week at Walt Disney World, when the parks are at their most crowded and an after-hours event with limited attendance is worth far more than usual. It definitely speaks to Disney looking to divert some crowds from the other three parks to Animal Kingdom.

November 30 falls right after Thanksgiving week, which is typically a softer stretch. October 15 at EPCOT lands during the Food and Wine Festival, so expect the festival booths to factor into your evening. When I went to the EPCOT DVC Moonlight Magic, you could use the snack credit on the booths, but just be aware to do so; it had to be done prior to 9 pm.

How Registration Works

Early Registration opened September 24, 2026 for Members with qualifying Resort reservations. Your Resort reservation must be booked in the state where the event takes place.

General Registration opens October 1, 2026 for all eligible Members. Availability is limited.

If you plan to change your reservation or party size, that had to be done before 11:59 pm Eastern Time on September 20, 2026. Changes made after that date won’t increase your party size for the event.

My Advice on Timing

Be logged in and ready when general registration opens on October 1. Moonlight Magic dates have a history of filling quickly, and December 22 will go fastest given the week it lands in.

Have your party list settled before you start. Fumbling with names while the clock runs is how people end up with a partial party or no reservation at all.

Which Resorts Qualify for Early Registration

Early registration requires a Resort reservation at one of these properties.

Disney Vacation Club Resorts:

  • Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, both Jambo House and Kidani Village
  • Disney’s Beach Club Villas and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
  • The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
  • The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Walt Disney World Resort hotels, including all three All-Star resorts, Art of Animation, Beach Club, BoardWalk Inn, Caribbean Beach, Contemporary, Coronado Springs, Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, Pop Century, both Port Orleans resorts, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club, the Fort Wilderness cabins and campsites, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.

Remember the state rule: your reservation has to be in the state where the event takes place. A Disneyland Hotel stay doesn’t qualify you early for an EPCOT event.

The Fine Print

Moonlight Magic is a Membership Extra, and that classification carries real limitations:

  • These benefits can change or end without notice, and may require a fee
  • They can’t be combined with other offers
  • Blockout dates may apply during busy periods, including Christmas and New Year’s Day
  • You’ll need a valid digital Membership Card and a matching photo ID to attend

That last point catches people. To get a Membership Card, you must have purchased at least 150 Vacation Points directly from Disney Vacation Development, LLC. Resale-only members don’t qualify for Membership Extras like Moonlight Magic, which is one of the clearest differences between direct and resale ownership.

How to Get the Most Out of the Night

  • Eat the event food. It’s included, and skipping it wastes part of the benefit
  • Hit headliners first. Lines are shortest early in the event before guests spread out
  • Bring your ID. A digital Membership Card without matching identification won’t get you in
  • Arrive before the event start. Entry usually begins before the official start time, and that early window is the quietest part of the night

The Bottom Line

Moonlight Magic 2026 adds EPCOT on October 15 and Disney’s Animal Kingdom on November 30 and December 22, free for eligible Members, with general registration opening October 1.

Prior 2026 attendance doesn’t disqualify you, so set a reminder for October 1, have your party ready, and go after December 22 first if a holiday-week trip is in your plans.

I’m no stranger to Disney planning, as a Disneyland magic key holder and DVC member. I’m the person people ask for trip planning advice. But I had never been on a Disney cruise, and had heard great about Nate and decided to reach out. I’m so glad I did because we could not have been happier with our experience. His tips and insights were incredibly helpful, and he was incredibly responsive any time we had a question. Who do the Disney experts turn to when they need help? Nate, that’s who. We’ll definitely be using him again.

Our experience working with Nate as our Disney vacation planner was exceptional. He was responsive and thorough. He gave us insights that made the trip go much more smoothly. We were able to really relax and focus on quality time as a family and have so much fun doing it! I will definitely reach out for any future trips.

Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip. Nate was VERY responsive to emails and texts and more than willing to do whatever he could to guide us and answer our questions. On several occasions I emailed him over the weekend not expecting a response until Monday but each time he responded before the weekend was over. He even participated in a Zoom session with our group of five seniors as we planned our trip. He also helped us at the 11th hour when we added a family member to our travel group less than a month before our trip. Without a doubt, I will reach out to Nate when I'm ready to plan my next trip to Disney World!

We are so thankful we used Nate to plan not only our first Disney trip, but also our second. He made the process so easy for us, especially for us since it was our first time going. There was a lot to consider and many decisions to make, such as where to stay, when to go, and what to experience. Nate really helped us narrow down what we wanted to do overall, but he didn’t stop there. He provided detailed guides to help us navigate the airport and find our transportation to the resort, as well as a guide to explore the resorts and make sure we saw the best Christmas decorations. One of the many amazing things he also did was set up our dinner reservations for us. This saved us so much stress and allowed us to get some of our top choices. From the moment we landed in Orlando to the moment we headed back home, he made sure everything went smoothly. You truly can’t go wrong with going to him for your next trip.

Nathan has been an amazing trip planner for me! So helpful and responsive. I am a very type A person -- so someone who is even more on top of their game than me -- is so so appreciated! Nathan has booked 3 trips for me (1 completed 2 pending) and it was perfection. Thanks again!

Nate has helped us with our vacation planning for the last couple of years and we couldn't be happier with his service and expertise. We've used other travel agents in the past and none of them have done as phenomenal a job to make sure every detail is taken care of as he has. Switching to Nate was one of the best decisions we've ever made. He's always quick to answer questions and works tirelessly to make sure we get everything we want from our trips. Plus, he's just a genuinely great person who is wonderful to work with. Whether you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, a Disney Cruise, or any other vacation, Nate is the guy you want putting it all together! Five stars across the board!
