Rock the Universe 2027: Dates, Full Lineup and Tickets

Reading Time: 5 minutes

Rock the Universe is coming back to Universal Studios Florida, and the 2027 lineup is stacked. Universal Orlando just announced that Rock the Universe 2027 runs January 22–23, 2027, with a worship service to close things out on Sunday, January 24.

If you’ve never been, here’s the short version. For two nights, Universal Studios Florida turns into Florida’s biggest Christian music festival. You get stage after stage of live worship and Christian artists, and you still get to ride some of the best attractions in the park after dark.

Elevation Worship headlines Friday. Josiah Queen leads Saturday. And tickets go on sale starting September 15, so if you want the best value, now is the time to start planning.

Below, I’ll walk you through the full nightly lineup, what’s included, which rides are open, the ticket options, and the planning tips I’d give a friend going for the first time.

Quick Summary

  • Dates: Friday, January 22 and Saturday, January 23, 2027, with a Sunday morning worship service on January 24
  • Location: Universal Studios Florida at Universal Orlando Resort
  • Friday headliner: Elevation Worship
  • Saturday headliner: Josiah Queen
  • Also performing: CAIN, Katy Nichole, Jamie MacDonald, Benjamin William Hastings, Rave Jesus, Franni Cash and more
  • Tickets: On sale beginning September 15, including single-night tickets and the “Rock Your Weekend” ticket
  • Rides: Select Universal Studios Florida attractions stay open during the event, including Escape from Gringotts and Revenge of the Mummy

Rock the Universe 2027 Dates

Rock the Universe 2027 takes place on Friday, January 22 and Saturday, January 23, 2027. Both nights are separate-ticket evening events inside Universal Studios Florida.

The weekend wraps up with a Sunday morning worship service on January 24. Universal calls it the grand finale of the weekend, and it’s a big part of why so many church groups and families treat Rock the Universe as a full weekend trip instead of a single night out.

Late January is also a smart time to be at Universal Orlando in general. Crowds are usually lighter than the holiday rush, and the weather is cool enough that standing through a full evening of concerts is comfortable. Just pack a jacket. Florida nights in January can get chilly fast.

Which Night Should You Pick?

If you can only do one night, let your favorite headliner decide. Friday is the big worship night with Elevation Worship at the top of the bill. Saturday leans a little more toward chart hits, with Josiah Queen, CAIN and Katy Nichole all on the same evening.

My take: Saturday has more depth at the top of the lineup. Friday has the single biggest name. If you love both, the weekend ticket is the way to go, and I’ll get to that below.

What You Can Do at Rock the Universe

Rock the Universe is more than a concert. Universal describes it as a weekend of faith and fun, and that matches how the event has run in past years.

Worship Experiences All Weekend

Worship experiences run throughout the event, not just on the main stages. The Sunday morning service on January 24 caps off the whole weekend, so if you’re staying at an Orlando hotel, plan to stick around for it.

In past years, the event spread performances across multiple stages inside Universal Studios Florida, with signage pointing guests to concert areas, a fan zone and artist autograph locations. Universal hasn’t released the 2027 stage map yet, so expect that detail closer to January.

Rides Open During Rock the Universe

This is the part first-timers always underestimate. Attendees get access to some of Universal Studios Florida’s biggest attractions during the event, including:

  • Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
  • Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
  • Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem
  • Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast
  • Revenge of the Mummy

Here’s my tip. The biggest crowds pile up at the main stages when the headliners go on. That’s exactly when you want to be in line for Gringotts or Mummy. Check the performance schedule when it’s released, pick the sets you truly can’t miss, and ride during the gaps.

Rock the Universe 2027 Tickets and Packages

Tickets and vacation packages go on sale beginning September 15. Universal is offering two main ways to attend.

Single-Night Tickets

A single-night ticket gets you into Rock the Universe on either Friday or Saturday. This is the best choice if one headliner matters most to you, or if you’re a local who just wants one great night.

The “Rock Your Weekend” Ticket

The Rock Your Weekend ticket is the popular pick, and for good reason. It includes access to all Rock the Universe festivities for the weekend, plus Universal’s theme parks during the day.

That combination is where the value lives. Instead of buying separate theme park tickets and separate event tickets, you get your daytime park days and both nights of concerts bundled together.

Universal did not list 2027 ticket prices in its announcement. Check the official Rock the Universe website for current pricing before you book, since event pricing can change as dates sell.

Vacation Packages

Vacation packages are also available, which makes sense for youth groups and families traveling from out of state. A package bundles your hotel with event tickets, so you’re not piecing everything together yourself.

Planning Tips for Rock the Universe 2027

Here’s what I’d tell anyone heading to Rock the Universe for the first time.

  • Book early if you want a specific night. Headliner nights can be the most in-demand, and group trips tend to book well ahead.
  • Decide on the weekend ticket first. If you plan to visit the parks during the day anyway, Rock Your Weekend usually simplifies everything.
  • Arrive early. Getting through security and into the park before the first sets starts your night calm instead of rushed.
  • Plan your rides around headliners. Ride lines drop when the big names take the stage.
  • Dress in layers. January evenings in Orlando can dip into the 50s or lower.
  • Budget for merch. Rock the Universe typically sells event-exclusive shirts and hoodies, and popular sizes go fast.
  • Stay for Sunday. If you’re in town for the weekend, the January 24 worship service is worth planning around.

The Bottom Line

Rock the Universe 2027 brings Elevation Worship, Josiah Queen, CAIN, Katy Nichole and a deep bench of rising artists to Universal Studios Florida on January 22–23, 2027. You get two nights of live worship and music, a Sunday morning service, and access to rides like Escape from Gringotts and Revenge of the Mummy during the event.

Tickets go on sale beginning September 15. If you’re going for more than one night, look hard at the Rock Your Weekend ticket, since it adds daytime theme park access to both nights of festivities.

Pick your night, lock in your tickets, and start building your ride plan around the headliners. Rock the Universe 2027 is shaping up to be a great weekend at Universal Orlando.

I’m no stranger to Disney planning, as a Disneyland magic key holder and DVC member. I’m the person people ask for trip planning advice. But I had never been on a Disney cruise, and had heard great about Nate and decided to reach out. I’m so glad I did because we could not have been happier with our experience. His tips and insights were incredibly helpful, and he was incredibly responsive any time we had a question. Who do the Disney experts turn to when they need help? Nate, that’s who. We’ll definitely be using him again.

Our experience working with Nate as our Disney vacation planner was exceptional. He was responsive and thorough. He gave us insights that made the trip go much more smoothly. We were able to really relax and focus on quality time as a family and have so much fun doing it! I will definitely reach out for any future trips.

Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip. Nate was VERY responsive to emails and texts and more than willing to do whatever he could to guide us and answer our questions. On several occasions I emailed him over the weekend not expecting a response until Monday but each time he responded before the weekend was over. He even participated in a Zoom session with our group of five seniors as we planned our trip. He also helped us at the 11th hour when we added a family member to our travel group less than a month before our trip. Without a doubt, I will reach out to Nate when I'm ready to plan my next trip to Disney World!

We are so thankful we used Nate to plan not only our first Disney trip, but also our second. He made the process so easy for us, especially for us since it was our first time going. There was a lot to consider and many decisions to make, such as where to stay, when to go, and what to experience. Nate really helped us narrow down what we wanted to do overall, but he didn’t stop there. He provided detailed guides to help us navigate the airport and find our transportation to the resort, as well as a guide to explore the resorts and make sure we saw the best Christmas decorations. One of the many amazing things he also did was set up our dinner reservations for us. This saved us so much stress and allowed us to get some of our top choices. From the moment we landed in Orlando to the moment we headed back home, he made sure everything went smoothly. You truly can’t go wrong with going to him for your next trip.

Nathan has been an amazing trip planner for me! So helpful and responsive. I am a very type A person -- so someone who is even more on top of their game than me -- is so so appreciated! Nathan has booked 3 trips for me (1 completed 2 pending) and it was perfection. Thanks again!

Nate has helped us with our vacation planning for the last couple of years and we couldn't be happier with his service and expertise. We've used other travel agents in the past and none of them have done as phenomenal a job to make sure every detail is taken care of as he has. Switching to Nate was one of the best decisions we've ever made. He's always quick to answer questions and works tirelessly to make sure we get everything we want from our trips. Plus, he's just a genuinely great person who is wonderful to work with. Whether you're planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, a Disney Cruise, or any other vacation, Nate is the guy you want putting it all together! Five stars across the board!
