Universal Celestial Goodnight Debuts

Epic Universe’s nighttime spectacular has officially arrived. Universal Celestial Goodnight debuted at Universal Epic Universe on July 7, 2026, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most technically impressive nighttime shows at any Orlando theme park. If you’re planning a visit to Epic Universe — or comparing it to what Disney parks offer after dark — here’s a full breakdown of what Universal Celestial Goodnight delivers.

Quick Summary

  • Universal Celestial Goodnight debuted July 7, 2026 at Universal Epic Universe
  • Show runs nightly at park close in Celestial Park
  • Features nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, 350+ fountains, and 7 million LED lights
  • Incorporates elements from all five Epic Universe portals
  • Closes with a fireworks finale
  • Universal Nights after-hours event debuts October 3; tickets go on sale August 13 starting at $179.99

What Is Universal Celestial Goodnight?

Universal Celestial Goodnight is Epic Universe’s flagship nighttime spectacular, running at park close in Celestial Park — the central hub that connects Epic Universe’s five themed portals. It’s the equivalent of a fireworks and water show combined, built around the park’s celestial design language and the unique visual identity of each of the five worlds.

The technical specs are impressive: nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, more than 350 fountains, and seven million LED lights. That’s a serious amount of hardware coordinated into a single show. The result is a fountain-and-light spectacular that uses Celestial Park’s water features as its canvas.

Which Portals Are Featured

The show pulls elements from each of Epic Universe’s five portals, giving guests a final tour through the park’s worlds before they head home. The five portals represented are:

  • SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
  • How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk
  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
  • Dark Universe
  • Celestial Park (the central hub)

Each portal’s section presumably incorporates themes, music, and visual cues from its respective world. The Ministry of Magic and Dark Universe sections in particular sound like they have strong potential for dramatic lighting and color choices. The show closes with a fireworks finale, giving it a proper send-off as guests exit for the evening.

Universal Nights: The New After-Hours Event

Alongside the debut of Celestial Goodnight, Universal announced a new after-hours event: Universal Nights. It debuts on Saturday, October 3, with a second date on Saturday, October 17. The event is limited-capacity, running from 9:00pm to midnight — but you can get into the park as early as 7:00pm, which means you’ll have time to catch Universal Celestial Goodnight before the party portion starts.

What’s included with Universal Nights tickets:

  • Nighttime access to Epic Universe’s attractions
  • Live entertainment
  • Character interactions
  • Complimentary specialty snacks and beverages

Tickets go on sale August 13, starting at $179.99 plus tax per person. More details are expected from Universal in the weeks ahead. If you’re comparing this to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Disney’s after-hours events at Walt Disney World, the pricing and format are in the same territory — limited capacity, party atmosphere, included food, and exclusive entertainment access.

How to See Universal Celestial Goodnight

Universal Celestial Goodnight runs nightly at Epic Universe at park close — meaning you don’t need an after-hours ticket to see it. It’s included with regular park admission. The show takes place in Celestial Park, so positioning yourself in the central hub area before park close will get you the best view. Given the scale of the fountains and light fixtures described, being close to the water features in the park’s center should offer the most immersive experience.

If you’re visiting Epic Universe for the first time and planning your evening, we’d suggest treating the nighttime spectacular as a fixed end-point for your day. Build your attraction priorities around it, and make sure you’re in Celestial Park with time to find a good viewing spot before the show begins.

Epic Universe opened earlier this year, and Universal Celestial Goodnight gives the park a proper bookend to every guest’s visit. With 7 million LEDs and 350 fountains to play with, the potential for a spectacular show is there. Have you seen it yet? Tell us in the comments what you thought.
