New Disney Lakeshore Lodge Concept Art

Disney just gave us our best look yet at Disney Lakeshore Lodge — the nature-inspired resort coming to Walt Disney World in summer 2027. New concept art released today reveals an aerial view of the Bay Lake property, showing the pool complex, the resort’s lodge-style building layout, and the exclusive waterfront Lake Houses that will make this property unlike anything else on Disney World property. Here’s everything the new images reveal.

Quick Summary

  • Disney released new concept art for Disney Lakeshore Lodge, projected to open summer 2027
  • The resort sits on Bay Lake with lodge-style buildings wrapping a central pool area
  • Pool complex includes a lazy river, water slides, and open swimming areas
  • Exclusive one- and two-bedroom waterfront Lake Houses sit directly on Bay Lake
  • 967 total accommodations: Studios, multi-bedroom villas, and Lake Houses
  • Many rooms will have Bay Lake views during the day and Magic Kingdom fireworks views at night
  • Design draws inspiration from Bambi, Pocahontas, and Brother Bear with subtle nods throughout
  • Dining and recreation details will be announced in the coming months
  • Disney Lakeshore Lodge is part of the Disney Vacation Club collection

What the New Concept Art Shows

The aerial rendering gives us the clearest picture yet of how Disney Lakeshore Lodge will sit within its Bay Lake setting. Several multi-story lodge-style buildings wrap around a central pool area that Disney describes as featuring a lazy river, water slides, and open swimming areas. Tropical landscaping fills the spaces between structures, and cypress trees and lily pads line the shoreline — reinforcing the natural, immersive feel Disney is going for.

The resort sits directly on the edge of Bay Lake, and the Lake Houses — the most exclusive accommodation type — are positioned right on the waterfront. The overall layout leans hard into the natural surroundings rather than fighting them, which is very much in line with what Disney has described as the design philosophy for this property.

Accommodation Options at Disney Lakeshore Lodge

Disney Lakeshore Lodge will offer 967 themed accommodations across three types:

  • Studios — Featuring warm natural materials, earthy color palettes, and upscale amenities
  • Multi-bedroom villas — Larger options with the same natural, upscale design language
  • Exclusive one- and two-bedroom waterfront Lake Houses — Sitting directly on Bay Lake with added privacy and unobstructed water views

One of the standout features: many rooms will have views of Bay Lake during the day and Magic Kingdom park fireworks at night. That combination — nature views by day, fireworks by night — is a compelling selling point for a resort that’s positioning itself as a luxury nature escape within the Disney World bubble.

The Design Inspiration

Disney says the resort draws inspiration from Walt Disney’s lifelong love of the outdoors. Subtle references to Bambi, Pocahontas, and Brother Bear are woven into the architecture, artwork, and design throughout the property — present but not overwhelming, which feels right for a resort that’s leading with the natural environment rather than character IP.

Floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the resort frame views of native flora and fauna. That design choice keeps guests connected to the surrounding landscape whether they’re in their rooms, in the lobby, or anywhere else in the building.

Bill Diercksen, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Vacation Club, described the resort as “a place where the magic of Disney storytelling comes alive through the beauty of the natural world.”

What’s Still to Come

Disney has confirmed that dining venues, recreational offerings, and additional design details will be shared in the coming months. Those announcements will be critical for understanding the full guest experience here — what you eat, what you do beyond the pool, and how the resort functions day-to-day.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is part of the Disney Vacation Club collection. Members will have priority access, but it will also be bookable for non-members as a traditional resort hotel stay.

Should Disney Lakeshore Lodge Be on Your 2027 List?

If you’re a Disney World traveler who loves being on property and values the resort experience as part of the trip — not just a place to sleep — Disney Lakeshore Lodge looks like a strong option for 2027. The Bay Lake setting, the fireworks views, the lazy river pool complex, and the Lake Houses all represent a distinct offering that doesn’t currently exist at Disney World.
