Disney knows how to do Easter eggs — and we’re not just talking about hidden Mickeys. Right now, the lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort is home to what might be the best Easter display in Walt Disney World history: a full Muppet-themed Easter egg showcase that is absolutely stealing hearts this spring.
What’s On Display at the Contemporary?
The display features your favorite Muppets reimagined as elaborately decorated Easter eggs. And yes — Miss Piggy is front and center, because of course she is. The queen is given the full treatment with clamshell footlights illuminating her eggs and a shiny silver aesthetic that feels like a Blanche Devereaux fever dream in the best possible way. We are obsessed.
The eggs are located on the ground floor of the Contemporary, right next to Steakhouse 71. They’re gorgeous, they’re absurd, and they are 100% the kind of Disney detail that makes you fall in love with this place all over again.
You Don’t Need to Stay at the Contemporary to See Them
Here’s the good news — you don’t need a hotel reservation to check out this display. The Contemporary is accessible to all Walt Disney World guests. The easiest ways to get there:
- Take the monorail from Magic Kingdom — the Contemporary is literally a stop on the line
- Walk over from Magic Kingdom — it’s a short and pleasant stroll
- Drive or take a Disney bus if you’re coming from another resort or park
It’s an easy add-on to a Magic Kingdom day, especially if you’re already heading over for a meal at Chef Mickey’s or Steakhouse 71. Swing by the lobby, take in the Muppet eggs, marvel at Miss Piggy’s greatness, and continue with your day. Total detour time? Maybe 10 minutes. Totally worth it.
The Muppet Moment We’re All Living In Right Now
If you’ve been rewatching The Muppet Show with Sabrina Carpenter on a loop (no judgment — we all have), this display is going to hit different. The timing feels intentional, given that Disney has confirmed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is getting a Muppet-themed rebrand and is set to reopen this summer. The Muppets are having a genuine moment right now, and Disney is clearly leaning into it.
There’s something very sweet about seeing these Easter egg sculptures knowing they’re part of a larger celebration of the Muppets’ return to the spotlight at Walt Disney World. Whoever designed these clearly has a deep love for the Muppets — and the details show it.
When to Visit
The display is up now through the Easter season, so don’t sleep on it.
