Theming and Atmosphere
The experience now features Alice in Wonderland theming.
Disney added visual touches inspired by the animated film. The space keeps the classic feel of the Grand Floridian.
The Garden View Lounge already has a Victorian look. The Alice theme fits that style well. The colors, menu names, and food presentation match the story tone.
This is not a loud overlay. It is a subtle theme layer on top of the existing space.
What This Means for Your Trip
This is a strong option for a resort day.
This works well for:
- Rest days
- Afternoon breaks
- Celebration meals
- Adults who want a relaxed experience
- Families who want a unique themed experience
The retheme will drive high demand. Limited seating will cause fast sell-outs.
If you want to go, plan to book early.
Reservation Strategy
Here is the simple plan.
- Book at 6:00 AM ET on February 19
- Try weekdays first
- Expect high demand in March and April
- Avoid holidays and race weekends
- Check availability for split-stay dates
- Refresh often if times are gone
This is a small venue. Inventory will be tight.
My Thoughts
I really like this retheme.
Disney has leaned into British-inspired stories at the Grand Floridian before, and Alice in Wonderland fits that direction well. When Disney rethemed Citricos, they pulled from Mary Poppins. This feels like a similar move. It refreshes a classic space without changing what people already love about it.
The Grand Floridian is themed to early 1900s Florida, not the UK. But the resort already has a strong Victorian look. That style works naturally with Alice. The colors, menu names, and playful touches feel like a soft overlay, not a full reset.
I also love the 1900 Park Fare connection. That restaurant once had Alice and the Mad Hatter as meet-and-greet characters. This new tea experience feels like a quiet callback to that era.
Most important, Disney kept the core experience intact. This is still afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. The retheme just gives it new energy.
Final Take
The Garden View Tea Experience reopening date is March 19, and reservations open February 19.
Disney is bringing back one of its most elegant resort dining experiences with a fresh Alice in Wonderland theme, a full tea service, and a new menu. The setting stays classic. The presentation gets a playful update.
Pricing has not been announced yet.
If you enjoy resort dining, themed meals, or relaxed afternoons away from the parks, this is a strong addition to your trip. Seating will be limited, and demand will be high.
