Hey Disney Vacationers! The Disney Destiny sets sail on November 20, 2025, and Disney Cruise Line just gave us a deeper look at what might be the most talked-about lounge at sea: Cask & Cannon. As a lifelong Disney fan (and someone who has walked through the Pirates of the Caribbean queue more times than I can count), this reveal has me counting the days.
This isn’t just another spot to grab a drink. It’s a fully themed Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired tavern—a place where ride history, film references, and Disney Cruise storytelling collide. Let’s dive into all the fresh Cask & Cannon details Disney just shared.
Inside Cask & Cannon
Step through the doors, and you’ll feel like you’ve stumbled into a pirate’s hideout. Think wooden planks, mismatched furniture, and treasures scattered across the room—each piece looking like it was pillaged straight from a Caribbean port.
Disney revealed that the carvings around the portholes carry a charred-wood design, directly inspired by the burning village scene from the classic attraction. Even better, the lanterns were modeled after the ones in Disneyland Paris’ version of Pirates of the Caribbean.
If you’re a film fan, the nods run even deeper. The front of the bar is built from stacked treasure chests that pull straight from Captain Jack Sparrow’s world. Around the corner, you’ll find thirteen drawers of treasure maps, each one tied to a different Disney park or attraction. I’m already planning to spot the one marked Blue Bayou from Disneyland and Treasure Cove from Shanghai.
Cask & Cannon Details That Set It Apart
Now here’s where things get really fun. Look up, and the ceiling itself becomes part of the story—a sprawling treasure map of the Caribbean Sea. The artwork is based on concept sketches by Marc Davis, one of the original Disney Legends behind Pirates of the Caribbean.
There’s even a symbolic touch for cruise fans: seven pirate ships on the map, representing the seven ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet—with the Destiny joining as the newest. That’s a detail only hardcore fans will notice, and it makes this space even more personal to the ship.
Even the carpet holds secrets. Hidden in the design are the pirate lords’ Pieces of Eight and Jack Sparrow’s compass. I don’t know about you, but I’ll be staring at the floor trying to spot them all.
Pirates of the Caribbean Meets Disney Destiny
What excites me most is how this lounge isn’t just themed—it’s layered. Cask & Cannon combines Pirates of the Caribbean ride history, film legacy, and Disney Cruise storytelling all in one space. It’s rare that Disney blends all three this deeply, and that uniqueness is what makes this lounge a destination of its own.
For fans like me, it’s more than a bar. It’s a continuation of the Pirates story, told in a way you can only experience aboard the Disney Destiny.

New Pirates Merchandise on the Disney Destiny
Disney also revealed that a brand-new Pirates of the Caribbean merchandise line will debut exclusively on the Destiny. Expect bar tools, novelty drinkware (yes, the kind begging for a splash of rum), themed apparel, and even a tote bag built for adventure.
This is one of those “get it before it’s gone” collections, and I’d bet some of it becomes highly sought-after by collectors. It’s the kind of extra touch that makes the lounge feel even more special—and gives you a piece of the experience to take home.
Why Cask & Cannon Is Worth the Hype
Here’s my honest take: Disney didn’t just design another cruise lounge—they created a Pirates of the Caribbean landmark at sea. Between the Marc Davis-inspired ceiling, the global park tie-ins, and the cruise-specific Easter eggs, this is one of those places you’ll visit multiple times on a sailing because you’ll never catch everything in one pass.
And that’s what makes these new Cask & Cannon details worth celebrating. It’s not just about grabbing a drink. It’s about stepping into the story we’ve loved for decades, only this time with the ocean as your backdrop.
