Crowd Level Tips
Historically, the least crowded nights are:
- Weeknights in August and early September
- Parties that fall on Tuesdays or Thursdays
The busiest (and most expensive) nights are:
- First Party Night
- Fridays in October
- October 30 and 31
Pro tip: If you’re going in September, aim for dates after Labor Day and before fall break begins.
Costume Policy: What You Can and Can’t Wear
- Adults and kids can dress up.
- Costumes must be family-friendly.
- No sharp objects, full face masks, or offensive designs.
- Adults can wear costume masks that don’t fully cover the face.
- No long capes or props that could harm other guests.
Make sure to check Disney World’s official costume policy.
PhotoPass and Memory Maker Magic Shots
PhotoPass photographers offer party-exclusive Magic Shots like:
- Headless Horseman
- Hitchhiking Ghosts
- Floating pumpkins and more
Memory Maker includes all photos and Magic Shots taken during the event.
Pro tip: Ask every photographer what special shots they have—some are only available at certain locations.
Character Meet and Greets
This year is packed with returning favorites and new surprises:
- Jack Skellington & Sally: Meet them together in one of the most popular meet-and-greets. This year, Jack debuts a new articulated head—ditching the previous half-mask look.
- Mickey & Minnie Together: New for 2025, they’re meeting side-by-side in Halloween costumes at Town Square Theater.
- Disney Villains: Disney has teased “new and returning villains,” but hasn’t confirmed the lineup or meet-and-greet details.
- More characters in costume: Throughout the park, expect unique encounters with characters wearing Halloween outfits you won’t see anywhere else.
As always, wait times vary—and character meet-and-greets are among the first things guests line up for.
Table Service Dining During the Party
Dining during the party can eat up your valuable time, but if you’re set on a sit-down meal, here’s what we know:
Dining reservations open:
- June 12, 2025 for Disney Resort Hotel guests
- June 16, 2025 for all other guests
While Disney hasn’t released the full list yet, we expect these restaurants to be open based on messaging on their websites:
- Be Our Guest Restaurant
- Cinderella’s Royal Table
- The Plaza Restaurant
These locations were available last year and are listed with special event reservation dates again. Still no confirmation if The Beak and Barrel lounge (inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean) will open in time—it’s currently tracking for a late 2025 debut.
Entertainment Highlights
Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
This fan-favorite parade features Mickey, Minnie, and friends in costume, plus spooky floats with the Haunted Mansion gravediggers, Disney villains, and rare characters like Pain & Panic and Vanellope. The parade runs twice per night — usually around 8:15 PM and 11:00 PM.
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
The Sanderson Sisters light up the castle stage in a hilarious and slightly spooky stage show. They team up with iconic Disney villains like Hades, Dr. Facilier, and the Evil Queen to cast a party-wide spell.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular
Jack Skellington serves as host for this stunning fireworks and castle projection show, which tells a spooky-but-fun story featuring Mickey and friends inside a haunted house. Watch for appearances from Oogie Boogie, Ursula, and the Queen of Hearts.
NEW: Zombies 4 Dance Party
Dance along with characters from the Disney Zombies franchise at an energetic party that’s great for families and tweens. Also, don’t miss the Cadaver Dans performing in Frontierland — their haunted harmonies are a sleeper hit of the night.
Attraction Overlays and Ride List
Special Halloween Overlays
- Space Mountain: Complete darkness + spooky soundtrack.
- Mad Tea Party: New lighting effects and Halloween tunes.
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor: Interactive Halloween-themed jokes and guest participation.
Rides Open During the Party
Adventureland: Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Swiss Family Treehouse
Frontierland: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Liberty Square: Haunted Mansion
Fantasyland: Peter Pan’s Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Winnie the Pooh, It’s a Small World, Dumbo, Barnstormer, and more
Tomorrowland: Space Mountain, TRON Lightcycle / Run, PeopleMover, Astro Orbiter, Tomorrowland Speedway
Trick-or-Treating and Candy Tips
Trick-or-treating is one of the most underrated parts of the party. You’ll receive a small starter bag when you enter, but feel free to bring your own bigger bag.
Tips:
- Don’t rush the candy trails early. Wait until after 9:30 PM when lines are shorter.
- Allergy-friendly options are available—just ask a Cast Member for a teal treat bag at the front of the park.
- Candy is generous and plentiful—you’ll leave with pounds if you want to.
Storybook Circus Enhancements for Families
Disney has continued building out Storybook Circus as a hub for younger kids during the party. Expect:
- Character appearances (often with shorter waits)
- Dance parties and games
- Trick-or-treat stations
- Low-key atmosphere for little ones
It’s a great place to take a break or enjoy the party at a slower pace if you have preschoolers or toddlers in tow.
