Hey Disney Vacationers! If you’re anything like me, grabbing a bite at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant is one of those unique Disney experiences that just sticks. The atmosphere, the retro cars, the campy old B-movie clips—it’s the kind of place you remember. And now, there’s even more reason to go back.
As of April 2, 2025, Walt Disney World has added four new items to the menu. Yep, just six months after the last update in late October 2024. This might sound fast, but there’s a reason for it—and we’ll get to that. First, let’s break down what this restaurant is all about for anyone who hasn’t been.
What Is the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant?
The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant is located inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s designed to look like a retro drive-in movie theater from the 1950s. You sit in car-shaped booths under a starry sky while old-school sci-fi trailers play on a big screen. It’s dim, it’s cozy, and it’s one of the most unique dining setups at Walt Disney World.
The menu has always leaned classic—think burgers, fries, milkshakes—but they’ve been adding more creative dishes lately. And now, they’ve dropped four new menu items that might shake things up.

Sci-Fi Dine-In New Menu Items (April 2025)
Here’s what’s new, and yes, they’re all available now.
1. New Feature Film Burger – $26.00
A classic beef burger topped with sliced corned beef, Swiss cheese, and house-made sauerkraut on a pretzel bun.
2. Cyborg-er – $26.00
A beef burger layered with griddled pastrami, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, and heirloom tomato, finished with a house-made Carolina mustard sauce.
3. Fried Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich – $22.00
Fried chicken thigh topped with ham and Swiss cheese on a bed of arugula, served with a maple dijon sauce on a brioche bun.
4. Cerulean Moon – $9.50
A chocolate mousse dome with strawberry filling on a graham cracker tart. It’s topped with a hibiscus sponge, green space dust, and chocolate-caramel sauce. It’s a dessert with serious sci-fi vibes.
Why Is Disney Updating the Menu Again?
This part is interesting. For years, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant was one of the hardest places to get a reservation at Walt Disney World. The restaurant is small and fills up fast, so demand was always high.
But recently? Things have changed. There’s been a noticeable increase in availability for advance dining reservations. It could be a shift in crowd behavior. It could also be that more people are skipping table service in favor of mobile ordering from quick-service restaurants like Docking Bay 7.
Either way, Disney seems to be testing out new menu updates to bring people back. Adding new, creative food items every few months might be their way of giving the place a little more buzz.
Should You Try the New Items?
If you’ve been before and loved the old-school burgers and shakes, the new items are a fun reason to go back. If you’ve never been, this might be your excuse to finally book that reservation. The new items add a twist without losing what makes the place special.
Final Thoughts
The Sci-Fi Dine-In new menu items are a small but noticeable shift. It’s clear Disney is paying attention to guest behavior and trying to keep things fresh. Whether you’re chasing nostalgia or just want a burger with pastrami on it, these new options give you a reason to drop in—literally.
So yeah, if you’re planning a day at Hollywood Studios, maybe it’s time to book that ADR and try something new under the stars.
