Hey Disney Vacationers! More changes are coming to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort—and if you’re into games, food, or just a good time indoors, this one’s for you. The resort is getting ready to open something brand new: Swan and Dolphin Lagoon Games & Dining, a family-friendly game space and restaurant combo that’s replacing the old Picabu restaurant inside the Dolphin. Whether you’re a guest at the resort or just nearby and looking for something fun to do, here’s what you need to know.
What Is Swan and Dolphin Lagoon Games?
Lagoon is the name of the new game room experience being added to the Dolphin side of the resort. It’s going to offer a mix of interactive gaming experiences, which means you’ll get both new releases and classic games in one place. Think of it as a modern arcade, with a little something for everyone—families, friend groups, teens, and even adults who want to feel like kids again.
There’s no word yet on which specific games will be there, but based on the Swan and Dolphin’s track record, expect it to be high-quality and polished.
Dining at Lagoon: Eat and Play
One of the best parts? Lagoon isn’t just for gaming—it also includes a dedicated dining area.
The restaurant side of Lagoon will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., giving you plenty of time to pop in for a snack or sit down for a full meal. The menu hasn’t been released yet, but the resort says it’ll offer a variety of food and drink options, covering everything from small bites to full entrees.
So yes—you can crush your friends in air hockey and crush a burger afterward.
When Does Lagoon Open?
As of now, the Swan and Dolphin Lagoon Games opening date hasn’t been announced. But the fact that they’re already sharing details means it’s probably not far off. We’ll update you the second the official opening day is released.
What Happened to Picabu?
If you’re wondering what Lagoon is replacing—it’s Picabu, a former cafeteria-style restaurant that served up American comfort food and was known for its grab-and-go meals. Picabu had its fans, but this new space brings a fresh and modern upgrade that lines up better with today’s resort guests.
More Than Just Games: $275 Million Expansion at the Swan and Dolphin
Lagoon isn’t the only new thing happening at the Swan and Dolphin Resort. It’s part of a massive $275 million expansion—the biggest in the resort’s history.
That investment is going toward a ton of upgrades, including a new 120,000-square-foot event space. Once it’s done, the combined space across the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve will total 469,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. That puts the resort among the largest hotel event spaces in the country.
Sean Verney, the Area General Manager, said it best:
“We look forward to delivering such a major transformation for our customers. These enhancements will be a great addition to our iconic and award-winning operation. It positions our property to remain at the forefront of meeting and convention venues globally.”
So while Lagoon is a great new option for fun and food, it’s also part of something much bigger happening across the resort.
