DinoLand’s Final Stand: What’s Still Open?

Although the demolition process has begun, some parts of DinoLand U.S.A. remain open through 2025. This means there’s still time for one last ride or meal before they officially become extinct.

  • DINOSAUR – This fan-favorite dark ride is set to close in 2026 as it makes way for an Indiana Jones attraction featuring a newly uncovered Maya temple.
  • The Boneyard – The interactive dig site for kids remains open throughout 2025, giving families extra time for excavation fun.
  • Restaurantosaurus – The quick-service eatery will continue serving meals through 2025, but Disney has yet to confirm a final closure date.
  • Dino-Bite Snacks – The beloved snack stand still offers ice cream sandwiches and other treats for a limited time.

If these experiences are on your Disney bucket list, don’t wait too long—this is the last chance to enjoy them before they vanish.

Already Extinct: What’s Gone?

The first wave of closures took effect on January 12, 2025, with these attractions shutting down for good:

  • TriceraTop Spin – The flying dino ride is no more.
  • Fossil Fun Games – The carnival-style games have permanently closed.
  • Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures – The quirky souvenir shop has shuttered.

Additionally, the giant Cementosaurus and Dino-Rama billboards have been completely removed, signaling the transformation is in full swing.

When Will the Final Attractions Close?

  • DINOSAUR is confirmed to remain open through 2025, with its final days coming in 2026 as it transitions to Indiana Jones.
  • Restaurantosaurus will continue operations in 2025, but an exact closure date has not yet been announced.

What’s Replacing DinoLand? A Look at Tropical Americas

DinoLand’s extinction makes way for a massive expansion themed to Tropical Americas, opening in 2027. Disney has shared details on what’s coming:

  • Pueblo Esperanza – A new land inspired by real South American villages, offering an immersive, lived-in atmosphere similar to Harambe in Africa.
  • Encanto Ride-Through Attraction – Guests will step inside the Madrigal family’s casita, where Antonio’s magical connection with animals brings the adventure to life.
  • Indiana Jones Adventure – A fresh take on an Indiana Jones ride, where guests join Indy on a quest for a mythical creature inside an ancient Maya temple.
  • Massive Quick-Service Hacienda Restaurant – Expected to be one of the largest dining locations in Walt Disney World.
  • A Unique Handcrafted Carousel – Featuring animals from Disney stories, this carousel will be a beautifully themed family-friendly attraction.

The Final Chapter of DinoLand U.S.A.

The countdown is on, and DinoLand U.S.A. will continue fading away throughout 2025. As demolition ramps up, now is the time for fans to experience the last remnants of this prehistoric-themed land before the new era of Tropical Americas takes over in 2027. If you’re a fan of DINOSAUR, The Boneyard, or Restaurantosaurus, plan your visit before they go extinct forever in 2026.
