CONFIRMED: Level99 Coming to Disney Springs, Here’s What We Know

Level99 has officially confirmed an early report that it is opening a new location at Disney Springs West Side, bringing its unique challenge-based entertainment experience to Walt Disney World Resort. The interactive attraction will take over a 45,000-square-foot, two-level space, replacing the former NBA Experience location. What Is Level99?

Level99 is a real-world, interactive entertainment experience featuring over 50 physical and mental challenge rooms. It blends video game-inspired mechanics with competitive, social gameplay. Founded by Matthew DuPlessie, an MIT engineer and Harvard Business School graduate, Level99 has established itself as a leader in the challenge-based entertainment industry.

Level99’s games test agility, problem-solving, and teamwork. Attractions include:

• Challenge Rooms – 2-6 players work together to complete themed physical and mental challenges lasting 1-4 minutes.
• Arena Duels – Competitive player-vs-player experiences scattered throughout the venue.
• Art Hunts – Players search for hidden symbols within commissioned artwork unique to each location.

Level99 also features a bar and scratch kitchen with handcrafted cocktails and an award-winning culinary menu, including its signature Detroit-style pizza.

Disney Springs Expansion and National Growth

The Disney Springs Level99 location will be the largest yet, featuring over 60 challenge rooms and duels. The space will accommodate up to 1,000 players at a time and include a two-story bar. This will be Level99’s first location in Florida and its fifth location nationally.

Other upcoming Level99 locations include:

• Tysons Corner Center (Virginia) – Opening in 2025
• The Corbin Collection (West Hartford, Connecticut) – Opening in 2025

CEO Matthew DuPlessie sees this expansion as a major step in making challenge rooms a mainstream concept. According to DuPlessie:

“After spending two decades in the location-based entertainment industry, it became clear there was consumer demand for a concept like this – a real unmet need. Our vision is to make ‘challenge rooms’ a mainstream concept, and the opportunity to open at a marquee location like Disney Springs is the next step in our plans to expand the Level99 brand nationally.”

Investment and Industry Recognition

Level99 is backed by Act III Holdings, an investment group led by Panera Bread founder and current CAVA Chairman, Ron Shaich. Shaich believes in Level99’s potential to reshape the interactive entertainment industry:

“We see immense potential in what the Level99 team has built and are excited to bring the future of interactive entertainment and social gaming into the mainstream.”

Since its first location opened in 2021, Level99 has experienced strong guest traffic, with visitors traveling over 30 minutes on average to play. A typical experience lasts 2-3 hours, with many guests staying for food and drinks afterward.

What This Means for Disney Springs

Disney Springs continues to expand its entertainment, dining, and shopping options, with over 150 venues already available. Level99 joins a growing list of high-profile attractions, reinforcing Disney’s focus on diverse, family-friendly entertainment.

Disney selected Level99 after a comprehensive review of location-based entertainment experiences. While Walt Disney World has not officially commented on the replacement of the NBA Experience, Level99’s confirmation solidifies its arrival as a new must-visit attraction.

Hiring and Job Opportunities

The Orlando Level99 location will create over 100 jobs for local employees. Hiring details will be released closer to the opening date.

Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip.
