Galaxy's Edge Project Show

Hey Disney Vacationers! Disneyland is making Star Wars history. For the first time ever, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will feature a projection show. The nighttime experience, Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga, launches on March 28, 2025, and will bring the legendary Skywalker storyline to life in a way fans have never seen before as part of the Season of Force. Here’s everything you need to know about this brand-new Galaxy’s Edge project show and what it means for Star Wars fans visiting Disneyland.

Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga – What to Expect

Disneyland is pulling out all the stops to make Shadows of Memory an immersive Star Wars experience.

A Visual Spectacle in Galaxy’s Edge

The spires of Batuu near the Millennium Falcon will transform with stunning projection effects, showcasing iconic moments from the Skywalker saga. Expect to see scenes from the original trilogy, the prequels, and the sequels projected onto the rock formations, creating a cinematic journey through the Force.

Legendary Star Wars Music

The show will be accompanied by an iconic musical score, featuring themes from John Williams’ legendary compositions. The sound design will be engineered to fully immerse guests, making them feel like they are standing in the heart of a Star Wars battle or an emotional Skywalker moment.

Luke Skywalker Joins Galaxy’s Edge

In addition to the projection show, Disneyland is introducing Luke Skywalker to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for the first time.

Disney first teased Luke’s arrival on February 7, 2025, with a cryptic Instagram post. Now, it’s confirmed—guests attending Season of the Force will have the chance to encounter one of the most legendary Jedi in Star Wars history.

Disneyland’s Official Statement

“Joining other familiar encounters in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, for the first time, a shadowy visitor will appear on Batuu for a limited time. Wearing what seem to be Jedi robes, there are rumors it might be the legendary Luke Skywalker!”

This marks a significant expansion of character meet-and-greets in Galaxy’s Edge. While previous encounters included Rey, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, Mando, Grogu, Buba Fett, Fennac Shand and Stormtroopers, Luke Skywalker’s addition brings another layer of storytelling to the land.

What About Walt Disney World?

As of now, there are no announced plans to bring Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga or the Luke Skywalker meet-and-greet to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.

While Disneyland is getting the first-ever Galaxy’s Edge projection show, Florida guests will have to wait and see if Disney expands the experience to the East Coast.

Why This Is a Big Deal for Star Wars Fans

The launch of Shadows of Memory marks a major evolution for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Until now, the land’s nighttime entertainment has mostly been limited to its existing atmosphere and the Fires of the Rising Moon Firework show (a variation of the Disneyland main fireworks). This projection show brings a cinematic experience to Batuu, bridging the gap between theme park immersion and Star Wars storytelling.

With the first-ever projection show and the introduction of Luke Skywalker, Disneyland is giving Star Wars fans an experience that feels straight out of the movies. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the Skywalker saga or a casual Star Wars viewer, Shadows of Memory is set to be a must-see in 2025.

Final Thoughts

Disneyland’s Season of the Force just got a major upgrade. With the debut of Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga, guests will experience Star Wars in an entirely new way.

If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland, from March 28, 2025, to May 11, 2025, mark on your calendar. Batuu is about to shine in a way it never has before.
