Hey Universal Vacationers! Universal has officially confirmed a Donkey Kong meet and greet will be inside Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe. Fans of the iconic ape can finally plan to meet Donkey Kong in person when the all-new theme park opens at Universal Orlando Resort on May 22, 2025.

This confirmation has been long-awaited, especially since Universal previously announced the Donkey Kong Country expansion coming to Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan would have the meet and greet. Now, visitors won’t just experience Donkey Kong in attractions—they’ll be able to meet him face-to-face.

Super Nintendo World Expands with Donkey Kong

Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe will include a Donkey Kong-themed area alongside the already popular Mario-centric attractions. Universal has promised an interactive world where guests will feel like they’ve stepped inside a Nintendo game, and Donkey Kong’s meet and greet is now officially part of that experience.

Universal has already added Donkey Kong’s character profile to its official website, further solidifying his presence in the park. This means guests can expect to see Donkey Kong regularly available for photos, autographs, and interactions within Super Nintendo World.

What to Expect from the Donkey Kong Meet and Greet

While Universal has yet to release specific details about where Donkey Kong will appear inside Super Nintendo World, there are a few things we can anticipate:

• Themed Meet and Greet Area: Universal typically designs highly immersive backdrops for character encounters. Expect a jungle-themed setting, possibly resembling areas from the Donkey Kong Country games.

5. Dark Universe – A terrifying experience based on Universal’s classic monsters, including Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Wolf Man.

With Super Nintendo World already a massive success in Japan and Hollywood, Epic Universe’s version is set to be even bigger and better, with the addition of the Donkey Kong expansion and its highly anticipated meet and greet.

Could not have wanted or expected more from Nate, our Distrips and More agent as we planned our 2025 Disney World trip.
