2026 DVC Halloween Meet & Treat Dates

Free candy and costumed characters, if you can get in. Disney Vacation Club is bringing a Halloween Meet & Treat to Disney’s BoardWalk this fall — a complimentary event inside the Atlantic Dance Hall on three dates in October.

Eligible Members get Halloween-costumed Disney Characters and candy. Here’s everything you need to know, including the part about capacity that matters most.

Quick Summary

  • Three dates: October 5, 12, and 26, 2026
  • 11:00 am to 1:00 pm each day
  • Held in the Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk
  • Complimentary for eligible DVC Members
  • Only one date per Membership
  • No registration required
  • No resort parking available
  • The event fills up — arrive early

Event Dates and Times

The Halloween Meet & Treat runs 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on:

  • Monday, October 5, 2026
  • Tuesday, October 12, 2026
  • Monday, October 26, 2026

Only one date is available per Membership, so pick the day that works best for your trip.

Notice the Day Pattern

Two Mondays and a Tuesday. All three dates are early-week weekdays, which is a deliberate choice worth understanding.

It keeps the event away from weekend crowds and away from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights, which run heavily on weekends in October.

It also means your trip needs to include a Monday or Tuesday in the right week. If you’re doing a Friday-to-Sunday weekend, none of these dates work for you.

October 26 is the pick if you want maximum Halloween atmosphere — closest to the holiday, and Walt Disney World’s decorations are fully up by then.

Who Can Attend

The event is open to Disney Vacation Club Members who qualify for Membership Extras benefits.

You’ll also need a qualifying reservation at:

  • A Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida
  • Disney’s Vero Beach Resort

booked within your eligible Membership on one of the event dates.

Members can bring up to 4 guests per Membership Card, or the number of guests listed on their resort reservation, whichever applies.

The Membership Extras Caveat Matters

Not all DVC Members qualify for Membership Extras, and this trips people up regularly.

Members who bought a resale contract after specific cutoff dates don’t get Membership Extras benefits — that includes Moonlight Magic, the Member Lounges, and events like this one. Direct purchasers and older resale contracts do.

If you’re unsure which category you’re in, check before you plan around this. The Digital Membership Card in the app is the practical test: if Membership Extras appear there, you qualify.

What to Bring

Registration isn’t required — but have these ready:

  • A valid Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card and photo ID at check-in
  • The Member named on the Digital Membership Card must attend in person
  • Add your Digital Membership Card to your phone’s digital wallet before arrival — the temporary card won’t speed up check-in

Attendees under 18 need a participating parent or guardian with them.

The Digital Wallet Tip Is the Useful One

That instruction about adding the card to your phone’s wallet in advance is easy to skim past, and it’s the single most practical piece of advice in the whole announcement.

Pulling up a temporary card in the app at check-in is slow, and at an event with a capacity line, slow check-in for the people ahead of you is your problem too.

Do it before you leave your room. It takes a minute and it moves the queue.

Costumes

Costumes are welcome but not required.

If you plan to dress up, follow the same costume guidelines used for Halloween events inside the theme parks — which means no masks for guests 14 and over, nothing that drags on the ground, no weapons or weapon-lookalikes, and nothing that could be confused for a Cast Member costume.

Getting There

There’s no resort parking available for this event.

Disney recommends using Walt Disney World Resort transportation to reach the Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk.

Plan this properly. The BoardWalk is walkable from EPCOT’s International Gateway and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios via the Friendship boats or the walking path, and it’s on the Skyliner network via the Caribbean Beach hub.

If you’re staying elsewhere on property, allow more time than you think — resort-to-resort transportation at Walt Disney World frequently requires connecting through a park or Disney Springs, which can turn a short trip into an hour.

Capacity Is the Real Issue

Here’s the part that determines whether you actually get in.

The Atlantic Dance Hall has finite capacity, and this event fills it.

Once capacity is reached, Members and guests may need to wait in line at the entrance and get admitted as others leave. Depending on the crowd, that line could close before 1:00 pm.

What That Actually Means

A two-hour window with a hard capacity limit and no registration is a queue event, not a drop-in event.

Arrive at or before 11:00 am. Guests who show up at noon are gambling on turnover, and guests who show up at 12:30 may find the line already closed.

The no-registration policy cuts both ways. It means no advance planning stress and no risk of missing a booking window — but it also means Disney has no idea how many people are coming, and neither do you.

With only three dates across all eligible Members staying on property in October, demand will comfortably exceed a dance hall.

The Fine Print

  • This offer can’t be transferred or sold
  • Event dates, treat options, and experiences are all subject to change or cancellation

Should You Plan a Trip Around It?

No — but it’s a good reason to nudge existing dates.

A complimentary two-hour character event with candy is a genuine perk, and Halloween-costumed characters are a distinct offering from standard meet-and-greets. But it’s two hours, on one of three weekdays, with a real chance of queuing.

If your October trip already overlaps one of these dates, go and go early. If it doesn’t, shifting a day to catch it is defensible. Building the whole trip around it isn’t.

The Bottom Line

DVC’s Halloween Meet & Treat returns to the Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk on October 5, 12, and 26, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

It’s complimentary for Members with Membership Extras and a qualifying reservation, with up to four guests per Membership Card and no registration required.

Capacity is limited, there’s no resort parking, and the line can close before 1:00 pm — so arrive at opening.
