Hey Disney Vacationers and runDisney spectators! Marathon Weekend is one of the most exciting times of the year at Walt Disney World. The costumes are fun, the energy is high, and cheering runners through the parks never gets old.

That said, if you plan to drive anywhere on property, this is one of those weekends where knowing the road closures ahead of time makes a huge difference.

This guide walks you through exactly what roads close, when they reopen, and how this impacts your trip, with a clear focus on the 2026 Disney World Marathon road closures.

Friday, January 9, 2026: Disney World 10K Road Closures

Friday’s 10K is the least disruptive race of the weekend. Most closures stay close to EPCOT, and traffic elsewhere on property flows fairly well.

If you plan to visit EPCOT Friday morning, expect partial closures along EPCOT Center Drive. Disney recommends entering from the south via World Drive. Other parks remain largely unaffected, making Friday a solid day to keep your normal plans.

Saturday, January 10, 2026: Half Marathon Road Closures

Saturday is when traffic patterns start to tighten. The Half Marathon impacts access near Magic Kingdom and several northern entrances into Disney World.

Guests driving themselves often notice later-than-normal parking lot openings at Magic Kingdom, which makes Early Entry difficult unless you use Disney transportation. If you plan to drive in from off-site, entering property from the south helps reduce delays.
